My first run i killed the sprouts (too wet).
Next run I fed only RO water (bad) so had deficiencies right out the gate.
In week 2 i misread the nutes label and gave 10x the amount. TWICE this resulted in a major nitrogen tox and some mutant fan leaves. I think i actually had deficiencies and a toxicity at the same time lol.
Snapped the main stem on the biscotti trying to lst.
Then forest fires caused me to have to abandon them for a few days.
List goes on, and even though i read and watched a ton ot tutorials. still made a ton of mistakes.
So i have been comparing my buds with literally everyone’s haha for the same reason, to try to guage where i am at. Even took some pics to growshop guy, who said i was on point. One problem is the youtubers he said add a shit ton of nutes, chemicals etc to get huge growth so they look good on camera but leave the bud in a bad way for consumption.
So because we are so close now i am just gonna let them finish up. If they start to lean i will give them some support but thats about all i have planned.
they will start to fatten up soon tho, i see purple haze is about 9 weeks of flower so you still have quite a way to go.
growshop guy said they will just get fatter and fatter from here on.
And happy to talk about this anytime bro its great to have you guys in the same boat as me!
I seem to be back on track now, it was introducing soluble enzymes mid flower that threw them off I think. I did a flush and started late Bloom nutes. I was scared it would just keep progressing and all the leaves would be affected since I didn’t know for sure what was wrong. They are looking better, flowers are still fattening up every day would love to see your tric shots!
oh that’s great to hear, nice work. glad to hear they are gaining weight
I’ve not got a digital microscope yet, I stole one from my kid lol which will do for now. Thankfully its not a kids toy one, its actually alright but difficult to get pics from, i’ll have a go later.
Was going to wait until I see a handful of amber before I start flushing for ~2 weeks. That should be fine right? Seeing a mix of clear and milky now but no amber
I didn’t see very much amber last tric shot but today in that picture I can see some forming. In every picture I took. I don’t see much clear anymore. My goal is 5-15% amber by harvest, they are already close. They’ll continue to develop during the flush. I also planned to do an ice flush before 2 days of darkness right before harvest which could develop trics more, not sure! I might not do it if the trics look right but yeah that’s my thought process
@SJ1 might even be a week from harvest. Just going by feeling and how the trics look
Flushing with 10 gal pH adjusted water every 2 days for the next week. Even if they are still wet and don’t need it. I want them to know they’re dying and push every last bit of energy to the buds. Then after a week I’ll see how the trics are looking and might do a final ice bath and 2 days of darkness directly before harvest to make them know death is near (feels so sad to write that). I’ll have a clearer idea of harvest timing after the first week of flush
Would be flushing with molasses powder to boost but I couldn’t afford it last minute for this grow
super interested to hear how you get on with the ice bath, not heard of that one. i’m keeping it fairly conventional for this one i think. already thinking how to increase yields tho for the next run though…
I was recommended by someone on this forum to watch the BlackDogLED grow-along series they have on their website. They go through grows week by week explaining how to top properly and defoliate etc. It’s where I learned about the day 0 and day 21 mass defoliation in flower. I binged everything on the site and learned a lot, that’s a technique they use during the last 2 weeks before harvest. They ran 25 gallons of ice water through the roots of 4 plants in one of their tents. It seemed to help the flowers gain as much weight as poss before harvest, and while I want to be a critic, it makes total sense to me haha
@SJ1@Stoney1BudTokie@Trichomaniac 3 days until harvest, doing ice flush friday then 2 days darkness and harvest sunday. Should I have clipped the dead leaf ends? Started as nute burn then got worse during the flush but the flowers look nice and got fatter during it all
@SJ1@Juicer@lin_diesel first harvest pics! Chopped last night and got one plant trimmed. Using a drying rack, turning the flowers once a day well the pictures speak for themselves
Do you just use the fan or the whole kit? I’m thinking about getting one but don’t need the carbon filter or to vent so far it’s working great in my room
Trimmed flower has been drying for about 7 days. It’s almost ready, I tried a small flower and it is incredible wow… still kinda harsh. But flavor and effects are awesome. I can’t wait to try it after it’s cured…
