Anyone having issues with USPS shipping? (Not Weather related)

I recently ordered a bag of coco from a source I had used before, same price, same shipping charge and method.

It was supposed to arrive Wednesday but the USPS Informed Delivery online thing said it had not been delivered because they couldn’t access the delivery location, and that it would be delivered the next day. There was nothing blocking access to my front porch where they always deliver.

Two days passed without delivery or change to the delivery status online. On Saturday the postman stuck one of those pickup stickers on my door . . . I thought so ok, I’ll run pick it up, until I noticed the reason I was having to pick it up was that there was an additional $77.30 postage due on a bag of coco that I had already paid a bit over $9 shipping on.

I contacted the company I had ordered it from to let them know I would not be accepting delivery, didn’t know if it would be returned or not as I explained the issue. I asked if they ever used an alternate shipper and what the rate would be as I still needed to buy a bag of coco.

I didn’t find out shipping rate as sales rep said he’d ship me a replacement via UPS this time at no charge . . . said that shippers were having an unusual number of issues with the Post Office at this time.

Delivery issues and delays I can understand but when you’ve ordered the same product, paid the same shipping rate multiple times without problem . . . then get a $77.30 postage bill holding your package hostage you start to wonder.

Don’t know what happened but I think I’ll be choosing alternate shipping whenever it’s offered in the future.
