I have a 3x2x3 grow with a 2000 watt light. I was told to add a co2 bag to help plants with photosynthesis. My grow box doesn’t have a vent hole yet but I think it will be added to make sure air can circulate. Wouldnt the fan just be blowing co2 out of the exhaust hole. I read that co2 o ky really works in a sealed environment. Anybody with experience with it. The co2 cant hurt but I don’t want to waste money.
Plants can only grow according to the lowest environmental factor. Therefore, if you have a 2000 watt bulb and only 400 ppm of co2, your plants will only grow according to the co2 level, which would not be optimal and therefore, much of your light is being wasted. Optimal levels of co2 are around 1200 - 1500 ppm. That is what you will need to get the most photosynthesis your light can provide. Furthermore, you only have six square feet of canopy space. At 60 watts per square foot, you only need about 120 watts of lighting. I would go with a 200-300 watt led and save yourself some money on electrical cost. BTW, the only real way to know how much co2 you have is to either buy a co2 meter to check the bags’ output or get a tank with a regulator.
