I know someone here who grows and he was telling me that he pinches off the tops just into flowering and it stops the stretch. I asked him if he topped or mimmed. He was not familiar with fimming, but the way he described it sounded like that was what he was doing. Is this why you are fimming; to stop the stretch?

I’ve read of nipping off the tip of the bud to induce it to bulk up but it was done at the latter part of flowering. Never tried it myself though.

Yes, it is. I have made super cropping too but to lst a limb and have my buds at the same level.
I’ve made this FIM in the first week of the stretch.

I don’t know that but in flower, before the end, i’ll never cut my buds

You can made it until the firsr week of the stretch.
When you top an apex, you’ll have 2 buds, if you fim it, you can have 3 or more.
But the fimming is a difficult technique. When you look on youtube, there’s not video with the result of the fimming. They show you when they cut but not if they’ve succeed

I see! Just before the actual buds start forming! I must admit this is the first I’ve heard of this.
By nipping off the bud’s tip, I think they mean just the very tip ~1/8" off. Like I said, I’ve never tried it but apparently others have done it too. Shrug…
