If you don’t have a growlog please answer these questions.
What strain are you growing? Is it Auto, Fem or Reg?
Are you growing Indoor or outdoor?
Are you using nutrients? Which ones? How much? Can anyone explain to me how to clone I have a female plant I’m wanting to clone off I’ve been told kinda how but they wasnt very good explained…simplest way to clone any help…
Hi @joekar420 I tagged you in another post about cloning done by a member on this app I believe is well worth checking out as he has a really good system and explains it very well
I have been trying different methods on creating a suitable environment for clones to survive on while they grow new roots. This method looks promising:
I used an unglazed clay pot that has about an inch of water in it. The clones are sitting on a coffee can lid that has had its outside edges punctured with vents to allow the evaporation to rise within. The whole pot is sitting on a plate that has also been saturated with water and wrapped around with loosely folded newspaper. The whole contraption is sealed with a dome and lit with a cfl above (I tried the LED flood I had but found it started bleaching the tops) for 18-6 light cycle. I plan on opening the dome everyday to allow for fresh air. I don’t know how clear it shows in the picture but the clay pot has started to sweat off excess moisture which tells me that moisture is being maintained wiithin.
The clone in the other thread has now been transplanted into a 7G which was nearly disastrous. Roots developed quickly:
@209MIKE@canagen appreciate another quick question can i reuse my soil from my plant i just harvested didn’t know if the soil would be good cuz has all the nutrients in it or if it would hurt it…i was just looking online at some clone machines gonna have to invest tired of sorting plants hoping for females wasted lot of money …thanks again
I don’t see a problem especially for cloning. How big were your pots and what did you feed your plant(s)?
The nutrients already present in the used soil maybe just enough for germinated seed or clone.
But for the complete cycle of veg to harvest, you may need to re-amend your soil. Of course if you were using bottled nutrients then all the above is moot. More info on your grow setup is needed.
Ok, I just had a quick look back at your threads and it seems you used Miracle Grow soil along with bottled nutrients designed for both hydro and soil. Helpful suggestion friend?
Ditch both and start new. Plenty of better soils available to use instead of chemically laden media. Fox Farms is one brand that comes to mind. I am sure others have their own favorites. You can even purchase soil premixed for cannabis or mix your own. The same goes for nutrients. You don’t want to use salt based nutrients with organic soil. It’s either one or the other.
I agree with @canagen miracle grow brand anything is bad in my book. It works well for most plants but not cannabis, I tried some a few years ago for a outdoor run and had multiple problems throughout the grow and poor yield, 3 of them had organic soil and were all on average 2-3 ft taller and no problems unlike the ones in miracle grow.
