Help with very picky and stressed plants

What strain are you growing? Baker Street
Is it Auto, Fem or Reg? Reg
Are you growing Indoor or outdoor? Indoor
Are you using nutrients? Yes
Which ones? Emerald Harvest 3 part + Cal-Mag and Emerald Goddess
How much? Recommended dose for early veg (M = 4ml G = 6ml B = 2ml C-M = 5ml EG = 6ml)

Watering: Plants are in 5 gallon buckets and get a full gallon of water each time

Water cycle goes: Nutrient water start of day(Bloom, Grow, Micro, EG) , Cal-Mag water (when needed), fresh water at end of day

Water pH balanced to 6.0 and runoff tests the same.

On 24 hour light exposure

So on to my problem here, I can add pictures if need be but don’t have any good ones. My leaves are very dark and shiny. They look glossy and there are parts of some leaves that are kinda curling to one side and that side of the leaf turned brown and the leaf dies shortly thereafter.

They were stunted a long time (this is my second ever grow and I’m still learning) from overwatering/nutrient empty soil.

Now they are properly absorbing nutrients and are gaining root strength every day but they still don’t look like they did before all these issues. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

i would need pictures but do the leaves almost look wet

Let me try to get some good photos. I just finished cleaning my grow room.

Here are the pics

Reduce lighting to 18 hours. PH for soil should be 6.4 - 6.6. Sounds like nitrogen toxicity. How big are the plants? how many weeks? Are you using hard water, soft, RO?

I use soft water balanced to pH 6.0.

They are just under 3 feet tall and they are very old gals (over 3 months old). This is my second grow and I’m having troubles.

They aren’t in Soil they are in Coco.

I gave them a flush with no nute fresh water (last nignt), reduced light exposure to 18 hours (for the last 3 days) and then gave them a fresh watering with half nutes this morning and they seem to be perking up.

I posted pictures above, I am adding a few more i took last night right now.

If you are using soft water from a water softener, you are putting a lot of sodium into your medium. It would be better to use hard water with a PPM around 200 and RO water would be even better.

I mean, I live in the city and its tap water. I think you are right in that I’m giving them too much sodium. My pH up and down is solid not liquid and I think thats what is causing my issues.

They don’t look terrible. At 6.0 you are locking out calcium and magnesium. Adjust your ph to 6.5 or 6.6. Also, I think you are giving them too much water and large pots will encourage that. My plants are 5-6 weeks old in 3 gal pots and I give them 4 cups of water. It’s taking a week for them to dry out which is fine, since I just transplanted them which means that the roots will be encouraged to follow and seek water. However, small plants such as yours in five gallon pots and 1 gallon of water is way too much. I have some White Widows that are in 7 gallon pots and are over 90 days old and bushed out. I give them 1 gallon of water per watering and its taking them a week to drink it all.

Check out this chart from Oaksterdam University. You can purchase liquid ph Up & Down and with a good PH pen (HM Digital) you can achieve high accuracy
