just basic soil and water with two 19 watt led grow lights they sprouted and i planted already and two have already burst threw the soil. im only using water right now.

I’ve used the General Hydroponics Flora Series which can be used from veg to flower. It is a 3 part nutrient system. There are others of course, some 1 part and some 2 parts. They will all work as long as you follow the manufacturer’s dosage rate. For seedlings, it is recommended to start them off on 1/4 the suggested dosage rate.
HTH.

There is one product I’ve read about, Mega Crop. I grow organic so I don’t use anything but if you search for reviews on this nute, you should get som good hits. I believe they offer a trial package.

Good luck.

Thanks! Very much appreciated! Do you know if it would work to grow all natural or are nutrients what set the plant apart from lower quality plants?

If you are talking about Megacrop, I’ve never used it myself, just read about others’ experiences with it. But to be honest, nutrients are just part of the equation. Everything has to work in harmony, including the grower.

Your best bet is to get setup, show us what you have going and we can better tell that way.

No I mean using just soil and water. Will the plants be healthy and produce buds? Or are the nutrients the reason the pant buds so well? This is my first grow and I’m using seeds I found so I’m unsure as to the classification but I’m using these to learn before I grow my jack herer and GSC. I need to find a nutrient schedule to print out so I can follow. I’m also confused as to what brand is best.

Well I am growing in soil and water only and I think my plants look healthy. However, my soil is alive and teeming with microbes which take care of the organic inputs I mixed in. These microbes are what transform the inputs into a form that’s suitable for uptake by the plant. This is called Living Organic Soil. Do yourself a favor and research this technique as well as Clackamas Coots’ recipe for soil if you want to go that route.

This is soil and water only:

Since I don’t use nutrients, I can only go by my experience using General Hyroponics Flora 3 part series. It works well for synthetic nutrients. I imagine all the others will as well. And as I said, do a search for Megacrop reviews and include “cannabis” or “marijuana” in your search. You will be sure to get directed to sites with many reviews. To my knowledge, it is water only but you still have to keep an eye on water quality i.e. PH etc…

Good choice of genetics, by the way. On my wanted list.

Wow! They look amazing! That’s definitely the route I want to take. I figure these plants have grown for years all by their selves why change the order. I’m definitely going to read up on everything you advised I really appreciate the info. I’m still waiting on my tent to arrive but this is my setup for the next few days.

If you get really interested in how to maintain living soil in a container, I would recommend reading up on Dr. Elaine Ingham, founder of Soil Food Web. She has a Youtube video of the same name. Another good source is a book at the public library called Teeming With Microbes by Jeff Lowenfels.

There are others of course but these two should get you going.
