Clips are alright when the plant is small but there comes a point where they are useless due to branch size and you end up going with ties anyway so if you are only doing training while small they are good.

Hey man can I ask you a question - I saw you vegged this one for 6 months was it? For just over 11oz?
I was wondering if you consider the veg time worth it for the yield you obtained, am planning my next grow and wondering how long to veg for. The summer months are too hot for flowering here so I need to veg during those months so I could either start now and veg until September, or plant in say July and do an 8 week veg maybe.
Does anyone have a yield vs time chart or something like that?
Hi @SJ1, it was actually in veg for 92 days, so 3 months and a few days. I may have posted 6 months previously by accident.
I was trying to only grow 1 plant in a 2x4 and trying to fill it as much as I could. Going forward, I will likely have 2 plants in a 2x4 and veg them about 2-2.5 months before flipping them to flower. I am also looking to try a Sea of Green. I really Love the buds that the above Gelato yielded, I mean I have not smoked it yet, but the size of all the buds was fantastic, the smell was out of this world.
So I am still curious about bud quality form a young plant vs a more mature plant. Mature plants will likely be strong with thicker stems, which leads to bigger, more dens buds.

Ok my bad, I saw 8 months on your log and worked back from there. I thought 6 months was a bit long haha. But looking around, yield goes up exponentially vs time so it is definitely worth a longer veg if yield is a desired outcome.
It goes something like for every 10 days extra veg, your yield doubles. I’ve been getting around 2oz per plant for about 5 weeks veg, think I will push for a bit longer on this grow.

Only a few more days left on this Gelato Photoperiod I think until I harvest. She is on day 75. I want to try harvesting with not too much amber. Trying to get highest THC.

LOL, yup, this is the sister to the other Gelato. This one was in veg for 131 days! LOL
This girl was a massive pain in the neck to try to train… I basically just gave up and let her go into flower… barely trimmed her since… All the top buds will be fantastic, but, all the inner growth will be not very ripe…
Absolutely epic haha. Great idea to stagger the harvests too, am thinking about doing this on my next run too.

Yeah, the goal with my set up is a perpetual harvest. The goal is that I harvest a tent every month or two. I still need to add one more grow tent to make the timing better. So now I have 3 grow tents, and a dry tent. I can probably squeeze in two more 2x4 grow tents, but it will be tight.

Wow. You really got an impressive setup. I really like the idea of multiple tents for different timing. I just dont think I’d have the time to manage something like that… but, thats impressive.

yeah nice, if mine had only been flowering 2 weeks I wouldn’t have an issue. But this is like week 5 I think. Will still let her finish up and see what happens but at this point I have written her off and am not expecting anything.
Then again, life is full of surprises.
@Rasta_Free-Man - really great setup. Seen it before but am only seeing its full potential as I increase my own knowledge. Though I would love to know what you are planning on doing with 12oz every month

Thank you. I spent at least a year designing it and building it out. I think I loved designing and building it as much as I do growing 
To be honest, when I started, that was my issue. I germinated too many plants all at once and I just could not keep up. I ended up just tossing some in the bin, and decided to focus on less plants. That is why you see my last 2 plants so huge, it’s because it barely takes any of my time.
Now that I have a system, it barely takes any of my time anymore. I have to remember to visit my plants or they will get sad and lonely. hehehe. Mixing my nutrients is done by my blender, then I add to the rest of the water. The watering is automated once I place the bucket in the tent and have the pump connected to interval timer.
I am actually doing some upgrades so that I don’t have to put the bucket in the tent, and also making collection of run off automated.

Well, my wife and I smoke at least 4 oz/month. So 12oz is a 3 month supply. So would like to harvest every 2 months I think to keep up, and would also love to make canna butter, eventually get a Rosin press. I also have friends Begging me for some of my herbs, hehe, so I am sure I will be giving a lot away.
