Any ideas what the sex of this plant is? It suffered from extreme stress around week 3. Its 7 weeks and 4 days old today. Im doing LST to allow light down below. This is my 2nd plant in growth. Just wondering if anyone can identify its sex. Thank for your time
Thats an interesting technique. What humidity was he drying at in the hang phase of 5-8 days?
I had mine at 60% and tried for 60 degrees but was more like 68ish. I figured I have nothing to lose and if youve seen the buds hody puts out, you can understand why I’d take his advice ![]()
The beauty of it was that once it’s steady at 58% in the tub, it’s essentially curing already and it’s buys you time to trim when you can and at your own pace. You’re not scrambling to trim half a pound once it’s done drying on that random Tuesday or whatever lol
Yeah. Ive seen this done. On a yt channel before. Well, kinda. They hung dry for like 10 days. Then transfer in sealed tub and basically do the same open lid if its above 60% and seal it if its at 58%. Kind of shake mix the buds around once per day. Once its locked at 58-60% they trim and jar/ grove bag them for minimum 1 month cure. Realistically you can just keep the buds in the closed tub for how ever long you wanted till you trimmed it.
60f is hard for most people. Even myself can only get about 65f as my lowest without an a/c. Thats only in the winter in a unheated closet in the bedroom. I read somewhere that anything under 75f should be fine. Lower is only better.
I think I’ll try this on my next run though. If its easier and provides good results. Its worth a shot.
I was very pleased with it so I’d say it’s worth a shot. Even if you try it with just one plant to compare
My plant is on D13 hang drying. Probably got another 3 or 4 days left before its ready to trim. I might go and pickup one of those huskey tubs today and put it in there to finish.
Let me know how you like it. I’m curious to see how it works for others
Just an update. I got that 5gal tub. I put my drying plant in there yesterday. I tried leaving most of the branches intact as much as i could if it fit. If not i just cut the branch in half so it fit. I put 3 of the 1 inch humidity readers in there so i could see humidity %. So far it seems to hold steady at around 60-62%. Which was a surprise considering i thought it had a couple more days of drying. Which it maybe only had one day probably. I’ve probably opened the lid 3 or 4 times so far for about a couple minutes to give new fresh air and get humidity in the 58-60%.
It seems like a good method because now it seems like i could get that perfect dry and cure with less guess work on less reliable method of touch or branch snapping that can vary depending on branch size.
The final smoke will say alot. But, i could see this as the way ill dry going forward. Will probably let it sit in there for about a week holding 58-60% then move to trim and cure in grove bags.
Happy to hear and all credit goes to Hody! I was just as pleased and it was by far my best smoke since I started growing 2 years ago. It’s just so much less stressful and more of an even drying process!
I think the best part is that you can spread out the trimming or do it on a day you actually have time. Before I tried this, I was held hostage when the plant was dried and ready for trimming. One time it fell on a day I couldn’t do it, so it overdried and wasn’t the best after that. I love the stress free simplicity and highly recommend it!
Yeah, trim day is the worst. Spreading it out will be nice. I just cut a nug from a branch. Sample nug
lol nothing wrong with a little quality testing!
Last week of flower Rave candy I’d say if you’re looking to grow her she is not for beginners I’d say intermediate to experienced grower if you want the most out of her she doesn’t come in Feminized so I got lucky on the regular the experience was most informative time for them summer grows boys!!
Where was that one from?
Hello friends, after four days the little one has finally got under control. The transition from plants born in soil is apparently not trivial. I replaced the tank and measured exactly how much water I have in it. It’s 17.5 liters instead of 20 liters as expected. This led to very high EC values. So it’s better to replace it. Now we just have to wait and see what the hydro can do.
I need some serious help. A little while back my old lady asked if she could grow an auto in a 6" pot with her house plants for fun. I said sure let’s see how it goes. As of now she is about 3 weeks from harvest. Unfortunately a plant she bought at home depot came with spider mites. Now her auto is covered in them to the point of seeing webbing. Thankfully my tent is on another floor in the house and I always go in there with clean clothes in the morning. So as of now my tent is free of mites. What can I do to save her auto and eradicate the mites. I tried captain Jack’s bug be gone on her house plants it did squat. I then tried alcohol on the house plants with no results. Next I bought a systemic to try on the house plants and also saw no result. Just to cover my basis I tried neem which I get is clearly a joke of a treatment and it did nothing. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Mainly I want to be rid of the mites but how can I save the harvest?
My colleague had it recently too and tried peroxide, alcohol, soap and predatory mites, all to no avail. He had to throw away his entire crop. I think the only thing that helps is extreme heat or cold. And a lot of things that would really help ruin your harvest.
Sorry Bro i have No proved Method.
