There is one state here where I could legally grow outdoor but I can’t find a reason the wife would go along with to move there

Shouldn’t directly impact the state laws so much . . . the seed banks using the mail or shippers transporting seeds across state lines will get into federal territory though.
At the end of the day you will still be able to get seeds regardless of what laws change. Australia has some of the strictest bio securities and customs in the world and we can still get them in and out of the country. It’s more about finding breeders and banks willing to dodge the regulations

I’m building a collection of different strains to do this with so I don’t have to buy as many. I just want a few more still before I do it.

No chemicals or special formulas needed to produce seeds, just let a few buds run late at harvest . . . not all but most strains can produce female seeds via a natural method called rodelization. Unpollinated females can form male flowers and produce female seeds if you let them go past the normal harvest point.
I think I should maybe try to clarify that a bit, if my run on sentences ever clear anything up. The females that produce feminized seeds by this method generally don’t produce actual male balls and flowers, rather what we call nanners. If she produces actual balls and flowers it’s full on herm and any seeds should be destroyed.
Rodelization was the original method of producing female seeds and does have a higher chance of producing herms than you see with the chemical methods. This is why feminized seeds had such a bad name early on. I have run seeds produced this way several times without encountering herms but it is a chance you take.
A new thought/question comes to mind: A feminized seed produced via chemical methods has an almost zero chance of being male. If that seed is grown and allowed to produce seeds via rodelization, would the resulting seeds not have less chance of showing herm traits than they did when produced from regular seeds that contained both male and female genes?
I have about 75 beans from a feminized Sensi Blue Skunk that ran late recently . . . I’ll have to try and find space to grow out a dozen or so of them and see what they do. Maybe outdoors next spring.
These plants are from self-produced feminized seeds. No signs of herming visible. Gibberellic acid and colloidal silver water are also used by breeders to produce feminized seeds.
If, for example, I now push a plant into over-ripeness to induce rhodelization, for a strain with approximately 8 weeks of flowering time, I also have the additional time it needs to develop its
. After that, the plant needs at least 4 more weeks for the seeds to ripen.
Let’s calculate together
Approximately 8 weeks of growth (I think everyone here has this)
Then 8 weeks of flowering time
Now 2 weeks of over-ripeness for
if that’s enough
Then 4 - 6 weeks of ripening
24 weeks total, about 6 months
In addition, not every plant possesses the will to replicate itself at all costs to ensure the survival of its species.
Now for colloidal silver water
2 weeks of growth
Topping and another 2 weeks of growth with special treatment
Then 8 weeks of flowering time
Harvesting the seeds after 12 weeks / 3 months
For this, a 60-watt lamp in a box is completely sufficient. The plant does not need to grow large since the seeds are ultimately not viable for germination for years.
This plant had 6 branches, two of which were treated, one with Gibberellin, the other with colloidal silver water. Total height with pot 50 cm.
Additionally, I pollinated two other plants in my tent (both different strains) using the pollen from this plant with the help of a brush, thereby creating two new strains.
This method is only for reproduction; the plants should neither be smoked nor consumed as they are poisoned.
However, it is certain that it works, it is much faster than rhodelization (half the time), and there are usually no hermies, unless the environmental factors (stress, lamp afterglow…) are not right, and then it doesn’t matter whether it’s bought or self-produced.
Can you also send the pollen? So that someone else can use it to pollinate their ladies?

Not debating the pros and cons of either, but you are unlikely to see herms with the chemical methods you are using. That is more likely to occur with the natural rodelization method I mentioned. That’s why I was wondering if a plant grown from a chem sourced feminized seed would self-pollinate and produce a better quality seed than the ones that come from self-pollinated regular unsexed seeds.
I think you would need a scientist to find that out.
I’m almost at day 21 so I have started the last defol and cleaning up the lowers. I’m leaving a bit more that usual, I’m gonna use the larf for edibles.
