So many of you have helped me through this trial and error from seed to harvest, after 48 hours of darkness, I harvested this morning and wanted to update with some of the nicest ones she gave me. But how do I know when she is dry? And should I cut more leaves off of her before hanging? Or is it better to leave some on? I’ve done my research as far as humidity and temp control. I’m honestly pretty happy with me being a new grower.

Great looking buds! I will explain my drying process and you can base your decisions for your own drying off that. I find that’s what helped me the most, what works for me may not work for everyone.
I cut the branches and remove any large shader leaves. I try not to remove any sugar leaves just shaders, you want a slower dry over a fast dry and leaving majority of the leaves help slow down the dry. Once the shaders are gone I hang the branches upside in a controlled environment for anywhere between 3-10 days. To see if they’re ready I snap a small branch (not the main branch) and if they make a snap/pop noise and break but not fully break off you’ll be good to. Once they’re dry enough, I do my manicure which entails removing any leaves and just making the nugs look nice. I find doing this step before the dry process, it gums up the trimmers far quicker. Once manicured, into the mason jars they go for curing
Okay, thank you!
Only newbe myself but that’s the way I have learned how to do it, exactly like you described @SoulOurGarden:wink:
