New here and cant paste on the phone for some reason. My question is how long to run you vent fan and how often?
Indoor setup with 6 plants, 2 600w LED, plants in Veg and just transplanted Friday. They look way better than before transferring.

Welcome! im new as well. I’ve seen people, including myself, have them on 24/7. you want air flow, but nit too much, to keep plants happy. Basically, you dont want the tent/plants to get to hot or have the fan blowing full blast. Whats comfortable for you will be comfortablefor your plants. Trying keeping grow area around 75 degrees. Hope i answered this correctly. Hopefully, someone can verfiy what i said or correct me if needed.
I am also newish but I only run my fan while my lights are on. You can try both methods, but you will need to use a thermometer that reads the temp/humidity and can give you the low/high over 24 hours. Then you can see how constant your temp/humidity stays running the fan 24/7 and only when the lights are on.
I stay at a consistant temp and humidity. I stay about 80 degrees with or without the fan on. I know letting fresh air in is great for the plants but I also dont want to let light out. So I am not sure how to go about that with a light sealed tent.
I run my fans (intake and exhaust) 24/7. I do have a variac transformer on them to control their voltage down so they’re not blasting the air past the plants. However I do rely on the inlines to move the leaves around and strengthen the stems. I also use a clip on fan to blow air at the top of the canopy however my clip on fan is garbage.
The common consensus is that you want to exchange out the air you have in the room every minute. if you have a 3x3x5 tent you have 45cuft of air and should be moving 45cfm at minimum. If you’re running an LED as opposed to a higher wattage light you can lean on the lower end of the air movement because your light isn’t producing tons of heat.
That was very helpful. What do you do for incoming air? Do you have a vent? I have two vents on the side but if I open them it will let light out.
I have an apollo tent that has the ventilation holes that can seal around a duct. I use ducts on the inlet and exhaust. The flexible ducts are nice to seal up and then direct the air where you need it to.
I’m an idiot lol. I know what I need to do now. Take a bit of the excess duct and seal the light.
I run the 24/7 except when I spray.
I have my fans running 24/7 also.
Get yourself a voltage control plug (not expensive) and turn it right down if your fan only has one speed setting/is too big for your tent & if you’re worried about it pulling too much humidity/temperature from the grow space. That way if humidity/temp goes too high you can easily turn up the voltage and let it take out some heat/humidity.
You definitely want some air exchange all the time.
I run my fans 24/7 but I lower the speeds during lights off and then ramp them back up at first light
