So growing, “Layer cake” (wedding cake x gmo x (triangle kush x skunk #1) I’m not sure if they fem or if they’re auto or photo, got a little lucky and found a few beans In batch from the dispensary decided to give it a shot. They’re around 3-4 weeks from seed. Not giving any nutrients ATM and they’re in coco plugs planted in M.G.'s organic nature’s care (I know I know 🤦 miracle grow🤦) anyways 2 of the 3 are looking good but one is a bit concerning. It seems to have not developed any new growth like the other 2 and stems becoming purplish. I germed 4 seeds 1 didn’t make it and now looking like might be a second one in danger. So the first set of close ups is the middle one that has me concerned. The other 2 I think are pretty darn healthy. What could it be?
How long has it been since the one stopped producing new growth? Almost looks like the new growth on that one was ripped or eaten? There also seems to be some brown spots on a couple of the other leaves. I am new to this as well well had some brown spots, dying leaves and purpleing if stems and it was was calcium deficiency. Sorted that out with some pro cal. Depending on if your soil has nutrients, you might want to consider giving it half, or quarter, strength nutrients. If you have a cal mag that can be foliar fed, you might want to look into that. It seemed to help my plants bounce back.I use green planet’s gp3, but any quality nutrients will do. Just need to make sure you’re following their feed chart. Make sure you don’t over water too. Let the soil dry out between water/feeds.
A few days. It’s really behind the other2 as you can see from the pictures and they’re all the same age. As for the brown spots there’s some soil residue that splashed up from last watering and a possible burn from it. I said to my self it looked like it was ripped out or eaten but no bugs or any other signs that would relate to a pest issue. Now as for nutrient levels in not sure I need to get a meter for that but if it’s a cal/mag deficiency I could just use add some erosion salt to the next watering right? Temps fine no more than a 6 degree difference day and night, pH is right, humidity is right, lights should be fine for this stage, still at 24 but gonna switch next week to 18/6. I’ve gotten fairly decent yield using cfls so I got faith in the led.
Man, funny that now that I asked for help about it, nothing wrong with gaining more knowledge, it looks like it’s starting to open up actually. Lol might be ok. And as for the watering I’m pretty certain they’re not drowning they’ve been getting water once a week, which is around when the first half inch to an inch of soil is dry, but maybe that’s too long for the soil to be wet 🤷 so it’s showing some signs of over watering, and they don’t sit in the drain pans so that air can flow up through the pot to the roots as well, they’re about a foot above the collection pan which I drain and clean immediately. Gonna just keep a close eye out on it and try my best to do this properly.
Haha. Murphys law! I just mentioned the water thing as new growers usually assume wet soil all the time is better than dry soil. I would recommend against the 24 hours of light since I did that first go around and I think I seriously stunted my plants with too much light. The picture is from my tent and the 2 closest to the cam are the exact same as the further ones, I just started those about a month after. The 2 new ones were on 18/6 from the hop and are doing way better then my first 2. The new ones are almost as tall as the other 2, which look good, just very little growth. I read that there is a fair amount of growth during the dark times.
Maybe I’ll just switch to 18/6 today and see how it works out before I decide to add anything, I do know the soil has some nutes but only last about a month and are in low amounts so if the changing light schedule doesn’t help I’ll look into my nutrient levels. Your plants are looking good by the way. Got my self a 5x5 infinity AC tent ready to set up my self and give them a real controlled environment.
Hi guys, ya @Dangleberries , you could of over watered, your soil looks like it needs to dry a bit more before you feed off water again, I had to lemon kush autos and 1 flew off, started flowing into end of 3rd week, budding 2 weeks and is sister, same age! But like your girl, the growth stopped, I was about to dump it and noticed new growth and it became a monster, but great advice from @aman_rndhw
Happy growing you both

I actually just watered it before I found this site. It was pretty dry. I leave them above the drain pan to get air thru the pot up to the roots and so they not sitting in that mess either and only water when top inch or so is dry. Could be thesoil too. Seems to really hold it’s moisture, so I’ll probably add some more perlite. So I’m a give it 6hrs dark from now on and hope it picks back up. Also realized some of the tips started curling upwards ( canoe not claw) so raised the lights up 2 inches and got the timer set. Could light stress, over watering, or a cal/mag deficiency. Will see🤞
Ye you should be fine, but even when you see or how do you check for watering ?
Even if my to soil is looking dry and if I stick my finger down, it might seem dry at the top inch, but in side has lots of moisture to feed on what it needs,
I would give my girls just water for the first 3 to 4 weeks, I use coco+perlite+soil, and just water, don’t ph, now I ain’t advertising not to, not ph,!
But with organic grow you don’t have to ph,
When my plants look like there asking for food, then I start on less than what’s recommended from charts, I use all the bioflore, BioBOOST, bioveg, etc,
And with these you don’t worry about ph, and since iv switched to Organic, wow, do I see the difference, ok I had my first pest problem from the change but I’m on to of that
I’m sure,
But no health issues, dificiances just what u made a home made pesticide that I got off YouTube, it worked but my babies where only couple weeks old but after I treated them, got rid of most, and only got my pesticide from Amazon today so tonight I’ll give them another, cause the would have laid eggs and they will hacht, so this stuff is great, not that I’m expiranced in it, but what to be free of those, mites, and trips, p
Take care and catch you again
Yea I stick my finger down in the dirt, a little past the first knuckle. And if it’s feeling extra moist I’ll aerate a bit but not too close to the stem .I’ma start weighing them watered vs dry. As for ph I don’t do anything just test to make sure I’m in the right range which it has been and I just use distilled water thats at the grow room temp… I do appreciate the insight, thanks
So I switched light cycle to 18/6 and this morning it’s looking a bit better but kind of looking like it’s showing sex already but not sure I know it’s way too early to really tell but tell me this don’t look like it’s showing female already👀
I also see that little white pistol, but also agree that it’s way to early to be 100% certain. Nice to see that new growth too. Was just lagging behind its siblings a few days.
It’s too early right now, but looking good, sorry for late response, I had busy day yesterday,
Just had a second look at the pic showing the little pistol,!! I don’t want to jump the gun or anything but I would go as far to say, she’s a bitch lol

It looks like it’s starting to split into 2 so fingers crossed @Dangleberries
A little update; changed light cycle these pics are from 3 days ago after a little watering, I let the soil dry up way more than usual this time, gave a little cal/mag foliage spray about 5mins before lights out. Noticing the growth started growing but a little weird looking. But also notice a lot of healthy inner growth happening way more advanced than it’s siblings. Just letting things happen and not trying to over correct anything.
P.s. don’t mind the sticks holding up that fan leave, I had a little mishap but she’s healing fine and it’s holding on by itself now. Any ways, just wanted to share a slight update and will at some more recent pics later. Thanks for the help you guys. If you notice, or know what’s going on here or have had similar things go on, please do share. I’ma bit worried but got a bigger feeling of, this girls gonna make for a great mother😁 first pic is the problem child second is the most healthy looking sibling, which took longer to sprout but looking the best so far. The third is just the other one and the stems have gotten less purple/reddish.
So this would be 3 days after changing light cycle and a day after the foliage spray and then same day as watering.
