I ask a question about once every day or 2. I hope that’s ok. If not, let me know. I have no social media savvy. Locked up for many years and now giving my first grow a chance.
#1 so I don’t see any white hairs yet. She’s 45 days old! Is this normal or a sign of poor care?
#2 I fed her for the first time about a week ago. I used tomato bloom fertilizer because it’s all I have. I know the first feeding needs to be light so I put like a small pinch worth (pinch between my fingers) in 4 cups of water. It’s Miracle Gro. I know. Next time I will use something more organic and small business. This is my learning grow. Anyway, a few days after watering the bottom leaves started curling, getting yellow and brown. Too much fertilizer too soon. I cut off the effected leaves, there were 4. I haven’t flushed her. Should I? It was such a a small amount I don’t think I need to, but WTF do I know, lol. Not much
Thanks for all the help. This is a great community and I look forward to learning more so someday maybe I can help some dumbass newbie like myself.
Honestly she looks beautiful. I would prob do a little flush but she will probably just push it out through her leaves if it was as little as u say. Make sure your using distilled water and not your tap water. And honestly from a grower to started locally buying, go to like Walmart and buy some Arber plant food. It has an npk ratio of 3-2-1. It’s great and simple as hell. Bellow the directions on the bottle and your good as good, you can even cut the dose on the bottle in half and give them hat, if they want more after week or less then give them the full dose. But little to no worry about burning. Also make sure you keep the ph of the water at around 6.2-6.5. And after watering to runoff (not Everytime depends on what your using) you check ph and want that to be around 6.2-7.0 where 6.5 is generally considered the sweet spot, I like to do 6.2 if possible. Also measuring the PPM of your nutrient solution is good so you know how much your giving her. If you want any help in the future feel free to @ me, I’m always happy to help.
Thanks🙏 That’s some good info. It’s hard to know what is really true and what is just common beliefs that aren’t true. For instance, according to every site I have checked, my ppfd is way too low, yet she doesn’t seem to mind. I use the photone app and it’s reads 175 at the canopy. I’m sure if I had better lighting she would grow faster, but she’s doing ok. Makes me wonder if a lot of the info out there is just from the companies wanting to make more money. It’s an industry now, so you can’t always trust info from companies that make money from it.
I will buy a kit to test the ph, and start distilling the water.
So I should start LST now with the top bud branches, not the fan leaves branches, right? Just bend them straight? As you can tell, this is a learning experience for me. Thank you for the help.
