So I have been confused on this for a long while now and still can’t find a straightforward answer. So are the nodes you count before topping is it like the levels or the individual branch shoots? Because I’ve always been counting off of the like levels. Like we’re the first 3 leaves pop up will be one, and we’re the 5 tip leaves pop up there is gonna be the next level and so on. So I was count 6 levels. Is that 6 nodes or is that 12, because if it’s 12 I’ll be able to fix it and cut my veg time in half. Or I’m doing it right and you are supposed to count levels? Please give me some help.

You are counting correctly, its levels you want to count not individuals. You could count the amount up one side though and get the right number still.

Ok so technically when they say “top at 4-6 nodes” that means top when your plant is between 8-12 branches? I kept feeling like I need to do topping and stuff earlier l.
Correct each node consist of 2 branches and i topped mine at 4th & 5th nodes i believe you can top early but the high amount of stress the plant receives could kill it or severly stunt the growth but thats just what ive read as ive never attempted to cut earlier than that
