This is my first time doing an indoor Grow with deep water culture and I just have a few questions that I need to have answered so I can start doing this correctly. I have everything that I need to start, but I don’t want to get started until I figure a few things out like, Whats the best way to start your plant for dwc? Can I just buy another clone from the dispensary? Start from seed? Or should I take a clone off of my current plants that are growing outdoors? Also if I did use a clone do I just need Rockwool next or some type of grow medium I already have Hydroton(clay pebbles) to fill the net pot with. Then really My last question is I currently have a 600 watt Mars hydro LED light that I was using for my seeds or clones before putting them outdoors. Should I or do I need to buy the 1000 watt Mars hydro LED light especially because the 600 watt does not have a veg / bloom button. Im only gonna grow 1 plant to start. Please help me

Are you growing Indoor or outdoor?
Are you using nutrients? Which ones? How much?
@pstockAZ-CO i do rdwc and dwc so i start from seed and using the papertowel method. Then when the seedling shows the first leafs i put it in a rockwoolcube. I cut it halfway thru so i can put in the seedling like filling a sandwich.
Put the cube in the netpot on layer of claypebles and fillup with them that. I have my waterlevel so high that thr seedling touch the water so i dont have to topfeed.
My dwcbucket is in a 60x60x180 cm tent and i use a marshydro ts600 for this space.

awesome thank you, does your light have a switch though to change from veg to bloom? Also do you know if and how i could use a clone because i have 12 plants outside i could take a cutting from or might just hit up the dispensary because they had some really good strains.
So if you are using the paper towel method you just let the seed grow in the paper towel til it develops its first set of leaves?
Of course you can take a clone. It might be the best to let em root in rockwool or in a cloner. Dont use soil. If you use soil you have to remove it. Otherwise you will have all the soil im your bucket.
i was thinking of just doing a clone cuz i have a death star clone and ya i know not to put it in soil. its staying in rockwool. does your 600 watt mars hydro have a veg and bloom switch? I was thinking of getting a Philzon 600 watt because it does have a veg and bloom switch.
Clones work well. And when you have allready one it make sense to use em.
My marshydro ts 600 has no switch or dimmer. But its no problem. I have also a phlizon 600 with bloom and veg switch. But i do the last grow with this lamp and only Use marshydro. I have 2 ts1000 and they have a dimmer
So what would you recommend if im just gonna do 1 plant in a grow tent? i have a Mars hydro 600 watt like i said but no switch which id prefer. so i was thinking of buying a new light either the Philzon 600 watt or a mars hydro 1000 watt? Do i even need 1000 watts for 1 plant?
See now thats the thing, i dont really know what i should get or what i truly need. I may end up doing more then 1 plant so i may have to go up in wattage then.
For one plant the marshydro 600 is enough. Then it depends on your growspace.when you grow more plants you need more space so you need more light. Maybe you can buy for example 2 marshydro ts 1000 and when you have only one plant you use just one. For more plants you can use both. You have a few options
