Nutes and feeding!

You feed once a week, correct? Do you water more often, if so, is it just warer or do you always add a little something something to the water? Right now we are watering 2-3 times a week and we arent sure if we should be adding some food to the water or not.

Also, I know 20-10-20 is the ideal NPK, but what about 20-20-20? Thats the closest thing we could find at our local nursery, but we did not buy it yet. Once again, trying to support local before buying offline.

I fed every watering in soil but you need to water until you get about 10 - 15% run off to flush old salts out so they don’t build up and lock you out.

So do you water with nutes until you get that 10-15% runoff, or plain water at first then add nutes?

I do all watering to that run off point but i don’t really do plain water very often. I usually add my silica on water days and add the rest of my nutes on the next one. Only reason for that I because I don’t like waiting for silica to mix properly so that it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the nutes. I add molasses on silica days too if its soil that run

Water it with your nutrient solution until you get run off. Make sure you start at the very minimum dosage of a new nutrient line and push it toward the top end of the schedule slowly until you’re familiar with your nutrient line.

How does a feeding sechedule usually go, or does that mainly depend on what you’re feeding them?

It kinda depends on what you are putting in each feed but also what you are growing in. Soil grows usually get a feed a week for me and silica the next which is 2 waterings a week byt something like im trying this run which is peat/vermiculite mix needs watering every 2nd day. Most companies will have a schedule that they recommend but they are assuming you are growing in a certain way so use them as a baseline and adjust it for your girls individual needs based on what you see after each feed.

Most lines have a feeding chart/schedule to go by some don’t. This is the feeding chart for jacks that I followed until I was familiar with the line and dialed it in for my plants.

See we were looking at the Jacks 20-20-20 but we are scared its a little too strong.

I don’t know about their 20 20 20 but this is what I’m using along with epsome salt for magnesium.

Jack’s Nutrients Calcium Nitrate Fertilizer 15-0-0 (Part A and B Dual Pack, 4.4 Pounds Total (2 Pack)) Amazon.com

I’m now using their bloom instead of part A but it’s not needed at all.

There are some difference in their part A. You can either get part A for RO water or you can get part A for tap water. You just have to do a little searching on Amazon for the tap and then you need to add the cal nitrate (part B) to your cart. I can’t find part A tap and part b as a bundle.

Jacks is also great on the tomato plants lol mine are blooming already.

Ah so the difference in part A and B is veg and flower?!?!

No part A is all the nutrients part b is only calcium nitrate and the epsome salt is for magnesium. Part A comes as 2 different line. One is formulated for reverse osmosis and one is formulated for tap water.

I use the tap water version

Yes there is but don’t let it overwhelm ya. I’m super impressed with Jack’s. This entire run has been using jacks and it’s been a cake walk. The only thing I don’t like about jack is the same gripe I have with all dry lines, they don’t completely dissolve.
