Old Genetics

Back in the early 2000s I ordered seeds from Nirvana seeds. I got 5 seeds of their ‘Indoor Mix’. Seeds were random and could include any of the following: Afghan, Master Kush, Nirvana Special(Jock Horror X Strain from Oaxaca, Mexico), Pure Power Plant, or Skunk #1.

I popped all five seeds and three were males and two were females. The two females had indica tendencies and there was one male that was clearly a sativa and one that was clearly a indica.

I took pollen from both and pollinated the best of the two female plants. So I had seeds that were an indica/indica cross, and seeds that were indica/sativa cross.

Hard to know for sure which strains they ended so it was a crap shoot.

That was over 20 years ago and I’m germinating the last three sativa crossed seeds(lots of indica cross left). They won’t be stable genetics, but it will be fun to see what I get.

All of these seeds have been securely stored in a freezer for all that time.

There is a chance they aren’t even viable anymore, but I guess we’ll see. Should be fun to revive some old 90s/early 2000 genetics.

I’ll keep you posted.

All three seeds popped. One of them lost one of its cotyledons, but survived. Although that one is much smaller than the other two.

All three are in solo cups and will remain there for a couple more weeks before being repotted and moved to the grow tent.

More to come.

Here is a pic.
