📸 Photo Friday!

Very good experiment, but I feel it needs more like living soil and organic fertilizers; perhaps it will recover better. It’s quite beaten up, my friend.

Happy hump day to all……and always stay chill

After a long time, I picked up the colored pencils again and let the stoned creativity take the lead :rofl:

man now i want little trees like that lol. thats so cool, do they stay that height and how long for them to reach that stage ? the 3 black pines

Anyway, to stick with the black pines.

I bought these 1 1/2 years ago at the garden center and planted them in a small, quite shallow pot. They were about 2-3 years old then, I think, and are now 4-5 years old. So, still in development.
Considering you can buy 40+ year old bonsai, that’s several years of work

You have to regularly limit their size, by the pot size and by pruning the new shoots.
If necessary, wrap the shoots with wire, if the plant tolerates it, to shape the branches a bit more naturally, as with the pepper plant.

Now about 7 years old.

I made this one from a quite large pepper tree, grown from seed and then trained to be smaller. Now it already has beautiful small leaves compared to its normally large relatives.

:joy: Do you still feel like doing bonsai now?

By the way. All bonsai I bought at the hardware store died after 1 1/2 years at the latest.

I found this book lying on the roadside a few years ago, with others, to give away in a box.

Since I’m already fond of Japan and Bonsai has always interested me, I took it with me :face_savoring_food:

Great read
