White Widow Fem, indoor, Success Nutrients. 4th week into Flowering.
I watched some videos on trimming during veg & flowering today. So, I proceeded to thin these White Widows. I was informed to do this before week 5. For those of you with experience, I am wondering if I went too far and/or if they will be fine. What are your opinions?
MMMM Without the pre trimming I can’t tell you how far you went but I grow White Widows so I kind of imagine, also I can see some spots where you trimmed.
In my opinion, it seems like they will be fine though it does not look like you needed to trim. The basic idea of it is to make sure light gets to the bud spots and leaves, and the branches are apart enough for light to penetrate the canopy down to the bottom of it.
So answering the questions:
You did not go to far and they will be fine.
Now I do have to say the difference in height of the plants is a problem. The tall one is going to determine the height of the light and the bottom ones are going to be left out with a lot less light.
Also I see a bunch of stretch from the tall one, I imagine you moved it up because of heat and she streched?
Anyways, if you next time can manage to have them all at a similar height you will harvest twice as much. Hell even when you have 4 plants and inmediately you see one growing too tall you can tie it down and play with a bit of stress to keep them at the same leve. Or even remove it from the tent, if the canopy has the same height the light can be really close and the buds fatten up pretty big.

Also, you can try to elevate the shorter plant if possible. I use bricks.

Thank you for that info. Not sure why they all grew at different rates. They were all treated the same. I added a 1000 watt hps bulb today, so I think that will be plenty for all of them
Well seeds develop differently for unknown reasons to anybody. It could be anything from shipment to luck. A good measure is to top them once at least to level the canopy at least once.

Well, I also have to clarify it comes from someone that loves main lining so…yeah haha maybe I am extreme in my advice of topping.

They were all topped together in the same way
