Quantum Board question

Hi!! I’m a new grower and I have setup with a 60x60cm tent or 2x2ft, and a quantum board that I bought from aliexpress with 100w. I have 3 amnesia haze seedlings 6 days old there .
As I’m new, I thought I would easily find information about how to use the lights, dialing the right intensity, height for all different stages. Until I find out that this kind of info is usually provided by the light manufacturer. Unfortunately they sent no information abou it.
At the moment I dialed 63w that gives 154par at 70cm from the top of the plant 18/6.
My question is… is it enough for that plants to develop? Do you guys have any chart the could help me using this lights in the different stages? Should I Purchase another 100w QB for the following stages? Thanks in advance!!

Welcome my Growmie! Lighting I feel are like power tools. Sometimes the only difference is from the neck up. With that being said Bruce Bugsby is the only human I know of getting paid to do light studies. So we buy what we can afford. A light meter will give you accurate readings, if you own one. If not? Use your hand. Hold at canopy level and feel for your hand to begin to sunburn. If you hand feels like it is burning? You plants most likely are burning as well. Hope this helps? Bruce can be found on YouTube. I use Bestva lighting. I own 3 different styles of them. And Bruce verified they are a good spectrum of light!

Thanks for the response! I looked for him on YouTube and he is the man when we talk about grow lights.
Thanks a lot!

I use a quantum board in a 2x2 for veg and it works great. Tried a lot of great lights and I have light meters but my experience is that things burn easily in tent growing… I start with lights 36-48 inches off the seedlings and don’t get any stretch… I may get as close as 18-24 inches when the plants are a couple weeks old, but there’s no need to get as close as possible with good lights…personally I was sorry when I tried to optimize distance… it’s living on the edge.

Hi @Riley ! Thanks for sharing your experience.
Congratulations for your plants! Looks amazing!!
On those heights what is the FFPD?
My 100w quantum board is producing 275 PPFD at 18 inches (45 cm) but my plants are growing very slowly. They are 1 month old and are just 4 inches high and have only 3 pairs of set leaves, and only one pair with 5 leaves. Do you think I should start to treat it as in vegetative stage and increase the amount of FFPD by approaching the lights even more?

Hey msgrow I have a 200w and I’m getting over 600 par at 18”. I never timed how long it takes to get to 5 leaves but it could be a month. The good news is she looks great and in another month should be an 18” bush. Yes, once you see all 5 leaves stretched out as yours are veg has begun. I veg 18 light 6 dark. Veg as long as you like if it’s not autoflower, but I’d recommend no more than 4 weeks if your new. Ferts are harder to manage the longer the grow. I use foxfarm souls and ferts nursery bags and transplant several times into new soil. The 2 in flower are entering week 8 (wk 3 of flower) at 18” and the seedlings are 3 days old at 24”.

My hlg 200 diablo was one of my least expensive light purchases, you might check it out. It’s rated for 4x4 veg and 2x2 flower. I think your looking for will be good for grow but you may want something stronger for flower. I’m using a kindled x420 in a 2x4, but 2 200 diablos linked together might have been better and surely cheaper… although the x420 has adjustable spectrum.

Actually 4 weeks to get to veg makes sense… I put seeds in water when my plants go to flower and 8 weeks later they’re ready to go in the flower room…I was taught they don’t grow upwards until the roots fill in… then you get a growth spurt, then I transplant soon after and let the roots fill in again. Nusery bags make it easy cause you cut em off. That’s just me

Hello, I have the same space as you and I don’t recommend more than 2 plants.

in my 60x60 space I have a traditional HPS 150W light in a greenhouse and in the other greenhouse I have a 35w Led Light with only one plant.

Result one plant 60x60 LED 35W

3 plants space 60X60 too much…

Light and ventilation are very important for good air renewal. Soon I will replace both lights with good quality LED ones.

can you share the link of the led light you bought?
