Hello Happy Growerz!!!

Here is my doubt: I’m not used to let water runoff the pots, neither indoor nor outdoor.

I use both 3gal and 5gal, Royalmix plagron with it’s relative nutrients and the same (plagron) schema for both cultures plus I only use rainwater.

The outdoor plants never had any nutrients/pests issues; indoor plants I struggle with yellow/burnt leaves and little flyes in the soil perhaps due to a missing runoff?

Hello @Claudio

I just had a quick look online.
Plagron Royalmix is apparently an organically fertilized substrate. And when you say the corresponding ones, you surely mean organic fertilizers?

If so, then it’s good that you water WITHOUT runoff. That’s exactly how it is in organic growing.

The flies come from the soil, mostly.
Let the top layer dry out. Before you water again.
Predatory mites can also help.

If I misunderstood something, or if further questions arise, feel free to add pictures too 🙂
always happy to help

Best regards

Thank you!!!

I was doing right then and those matching nutrients are alga grow, alga bloom, power roots, sugar royal and green sensation all plagron products.

I’ve been absent for 22 years but now I’m back and I have plenty of things to learn and improve.

Stay safe

If you are growing organically, you should continue watering without runoff; runoff is only for mineral fertilizers.
Predatory mites and nematodes will help against your flies; they eat the gnats as well as the larvae, and you will get it under control this way. Otherwise, the larvae will eat away at your plants’ roots, and if you don’t do anything, they might die. A few yellow sticky traps can also help you get rid of the flies, but they only catch the male flies.

Thanks @herr_gruen!

Any idea where I can buy those nematodes/mites please?

I already use the yellow stickers but last indoor was infested!

Search for it on Google, everything you need is there, look for nematodes and predatory mites for cannabis.
Maybe you should try a different soil next time, with some manufacturers the bag is already teeming with critters.
Keeping my fingers crossed that you get rid of them quickly.

Searching for nematodes I found oil of neem, is it a valid solution?

Sherbet Queen auto RQS 68 days (October 29, 2026) after sprouting (picture taken 2 days before harvest).

As you can see the yellow adhesives are plenty of insects and I changed them twice already.

They’re actually drying.

Greetings @Claudio
Herr grün has already given tips.
Neem oil in purely organic growing is not a good idea. While it does prevent the development from larva to adult animal – i.e., the fungus gnat.
However, neem oil significantly disrupts the soil flora = fungi and microorganisms in the soil that feed the plant in organic growing.
Organic fertilizers enrich soil bacteria and provide food for them and for fungi like Mycorrhiza and Trichoderma. These on the

I have found this to be an excellent fix for the flies, likely fungus gnats… 1 drop of this per gallon of feed kills off the larvae before they turn. I start it the first time I put water to soil and continue through harvest…
