I’m not great at logging so I’ll answer these here:
What strain are you growing? Tangerine Dream auto feminized
Are you growing Indoor or outdoor? Indoor
Are you using nutrients? None yet
Hi, first time poster long time logger o/
I tried to google this but I only found results talking about completely broken stems and I’m not sure if my stem’s actually broken or what.
Anyway, it was growing normally and seemed fine yesterday, then about 24 hours later it’s doing this. It doesn’t seem like it broke anywhere and there are no pests, also just one small fan going for the moment so there isn’t strong air pushing it (plus the fan isn’t aimed in that direction anyway).
My light is a Spider Farmer SF 2000 on the lowest % setting running 24h.
If anyone has any idea what’s happening or if I can fix this I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
Plants do need ample wind in order to strengthen the stem & help with water respiration. This is CRUCIAL. So my best guess is the plant is wilting due to an lack of air movement.
See the “wind” section. This is a verry short summary of the needed parameters. If your fan is oscillating place it in the immediete area of the grow pot and keep it moving..
Just need to support it and get air movement in there, get it so she’s doing a little dancing. Watering looks fine, you have a nice little area for the roots to reach out. All in all you are doing fine
I find it strange that lack of air movement would have such a drastic affect on such a small seedling. And you indicate you have a fan going so there is some air moving around. The first plant I grew was sitting on a book shelf with a cheap LED light about 8 or so inches above it and it grew straight as an arrow. Fearing the light was not strong enough, I moved the book shelf closer to the window, and on sunny days (when the light from the window was stronger than the LED light) the seedling would tend to lean a little toward the window. The light you are using is a much better light than mine but you do have it on a low setting but @Dree, could something like that be happening here? Is it leaning towards a stronger light source?
I see that your seedling has already a few leafs… the stem supose to be a bit thicker at this time. It didnt got leggy because lack of wind.
Lower your light or put the brightnes higher if you can. And put someting next to your seedling so that it will stand straight. Within 1 day the stem will be strong enough to stand alone if the light is enough.
Take a look at my growlog i had the same problem and i used metal wire turned power higher and in no time they didnt need it anymore.

I think it might’ve been too hot on the light’s full setting, and the wind might’ve been a factor too, not sure. I actually ended up lowering the light setting (I boosted it up to max and then my tent was at 33C / 91F and the humidity dropped to like 25%, which seems too hot and not humid enough to me.
I ordered a proper vent system from AC Infinity that gets here on Thursday, which should help with regulating the temp and humidity since I definitely would prefer to make the most out of my SF2000!
After reading the posts here I added a small pipe cleaner for training, and I turned the light brightness back down, also left the zipper open on my tent, which set the temp back to 25C / 77F and 50% humidity. This isn’t an ideal solution permanently but it seems to be helping the little sprout some for now until my carbon filter / vent stuff arrives in two days. Here’s an updated pic as well. Thanks again for all your help folks!
awww,
i used a plastic zip tie in the ground then a small wooden closepin to support my little girl. She became a beast.
i live in va so there is lots if different soils and strains that i try as well as many different nutrients.
let me know
and good luck, but you will do great!!
