Testing Nutrient Solution pH with Testing Drops

Hi all,

I’ve read conflicting views on using pH testing drops to pH your nutrient solution before feeding. Some say that the drops can only be used to pH water, without adding nutrients as if nutrients are added the drops will give an inaccurate results.

Anyone have any views or experience on it? I’ve been using drops and would rather not have to splash out on a digital tester that constantly needs to be recalibrated etc.

Thanks

You need a good PH pen. If you’re growing in soil, you want that ph between 6.4 and 6.6. You cannot know that with drops

Nice one Outdoorman.

Bit the bullet and went for a Bluelab pen.

Thanks. Be sure to add your nutrients first and then adjust ph
