We are thinking we want to flip our girls to flower. They arent huge, but are grwoing strong and see somewhat healthy. This is our first grow, so yes, we sre very eager! Was thinking about making the flip on the 1st of july and let it flower for a month or 2. It’s looking really good. Giving it a little more time would be best I think. Give it time to grow and branch out for that trellis… How long has it been in veg? ---

A pretty long time. If i had to guess, 12-14 weeks. I did want the lower branches to catch up to the trellis, just getting eager! The whole grow is 100% different from when we started. From the medium, to the grow space, ventilation, light, everything! Now that we have the proper equipment or more of the proper equipment, I think the next grow is going to be so much better and faster. Also kinda nervous about the flower stage. Never done it before and theres going to be a lot more to learn, kinda ready to just get it over to see if we are successful or not. But thank you on the compliment of the plants! For sure! If It were me I would wait a little bit like I said. I’m not too familiar with running things in dirt, being a hydroponic grower, but I can help where I can. Long as it’s clear out… 😶‍🌫️ 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️ 🤣🤣🤣 ---

Just a little update on this subject, me and the wife decided to wait till August the 13th to flip the girls to flower. The 13th is our daughters birthday, so it will be super easy to keep track of the time its been in flower. Gonna give them plenty of time to get bigger and let all the branches catch to the trellis. We knew it took time and was going to be a long process, but didn’t relize HOW long it would take. Ive brewed beer (takes about 2 weeks), we’ve grown shrooms (takes about 12ish days), but man, im thinking we wont get to enjoy our first batch till November/December! ---

Thats about the time i get to enjoy the grow is late nov/dec but i grow outdoors so ladies flip when they want to lol and honestly great job so far you two seem to have took in a lot of knowledge and help, i remember when you two were first asking questions and had the old setup. Awesome you commited and enjoy it. As for being eager i agree its worst than a crack addiction 🤣 but i promise give little more time and you wont be wondering if it would of been better by waiting lol it will be. Flowering can be a pain at times just like veg if grow isnt dialed in but i know you two will get the hang of it and asking questions so i got faith in ya. They will require less nitrogen and more phosphorus & potassium for bud growth and density but you know community will help with anything we can. Again congrats and cant wait to see end results ---

THANK YOU @Smokey101 We’ve had a ton of fun so far learning all this new stuff. Wish we had the funds to go a little bit bigger and better, but making due woth the best we got! The ONLY concern we have about flipping to flower is our light. We thought we were buying a 1kw light, but it turned out to be 110w (we were still learning a lot) and ive heard we might have a hardwr time with such a weak light. But i honesty love keeping yall informed and updated. We DEFINITELY will be doing a proper growlog! We cant thank everyone enough for all the help amd knowlage! ---

HI @Vanillabean, sorry I missed this thread… and I am so glad you decided to wait… you would have been disappointed if you had flipped them so early. I think August 13th will give them Plenty of time to fill out the trellis net, then defoliate and flip. Keep us updated! ---

Should we wait to defoliate till then, or trim as we go? We did a good feeding today with the Strive (doing 1/3 strength like you suggested) and tomorrow we were gonna trim up a bit and add a bit more soil to the top just for fun. ---

I would only remove the inward pointing fan leaves that are blocking bud sites. I tend to leave the fan leaves pointing to the outside, unless they are not getting any light. ---

Sounds good. We have a few big fan leaves not getting a ton of light, so those are the ones i was going for. Sadly, i think im gonna have to remove my strawberries from the tent, they LOVE it in there.
