I wanna say wait for de second from de top node (split) to grow another 10 centimeters. This of course iz with respects to your setting provoking this question over assuming a standard for set-up.

I wait until I have 5 nodes then I top back to the third node.

I assume this is a clone bc of the nodes being split instead of next to one another. In this situation, I would fimm instead of topping. You can get upwards of 4 branches instead of just the normal 2 branches.

First of all, welcome @Nicklovin420. Fimming is one method; you usually get more than two main shoots. However, you cannot control the plant’s height this way, as it will show the same growth after fimming as a normally growing plant. If you want it to grow wide, I recommend topping followed by LST. When topping or fimming, you should wait until the 5 nodes are well-developed and ensure the plant is healthy. Before that, it’s risky to perform such an intervention as it will stress the plant a lot. Depending on how many shoots you want, you can also top later; it’s also a question of how much space you have available.
