I’m growing auto fem hindu kush, indoors, and so far I’m just using dirt and water. It’s colder right now for me but it never gets below I think 66f I’ve started using a heater to help bump the temperatures I’d feel more comfortable if it was in the 70s but the issue I’m running into I think is over watering which because it’s colder makes sense. My biggest plant is roughly a month old and I’m using miracle gro in a 5 gallon bucket and it seems alright but there are some issues I’m running into that maybe I’m being paranoid about? I’ll include the growlog so it can be looked at of my plant and maybe I could get some advice. I just tried to use what I had since it needed to be transfered to a bigger pot than what I started it in. As a first time grower just want to make sure I’m doing everything I can for my little plant ykno? I mostly wanna make sure the plant is healthy since I’m inexperienced and don’t exactly know from looking at it what is wrong.
It looks pretty healthy to me but I think your giving it way to much water the pic I attached should be reference. At that stage they can’t drink very much water and any water the roots can’t reach will go stagnate and start to form mold or bacteria in the soil the circle I made around the plant is the only area you need to water at that size I would give it about 25ml of water at a time. You want the water to travel down to promote the roots to grow downwards vs sideways. And the temps need to be a little higher for optimal growth, try to aim for 77-78 degrees for best temps but at least get the room to 74 degrees to help it grow, also you should keep the room around 40-50% humidity levels as seedlings at that stage still draw moisture form the air around them through the leaves to drink while the roots grow. Happy growing!!
thats actually really helpful advice thanks a lot, if you look at Eddy its much bigger now with several limbs I have it under 24hr light as a lot of articles said it grows better that way, the newest picture I took a few days ago shows that the stem in the center of the leaves is becoming much lighter which I was wondering if that was a sign of over watering as well? I’m really concerned about starving it for water but I really don’t want to over water, I’ve moved to misting the plant and the surface water just enough to darken the soil, but i really appreciate your advice its actually super helpful for me!
I think the lighter color you see is just newer growth that will darken with age. And yes 24 hour light exposure is ok, some people believe in 24 on and some believe in 18 hours on just a preference. I think reducing the watering and you do great!
If you see it start to droop then water ASAP but as long as you don’t let it get past a slight droop you’ll see the schedule the plant requires to grow correctly and get the hang of it.
i appreciate it i was worried and my lack of experience is a bit concwrned bc growing cannabis is a lot different than normal plants ive noticed tha k you a lot for the help!
