Trim? or not to trim?

I’ve read a mixture of do’s and Don’ts most contradict eachother so asking here

I’m in week 4 of flowering should I still trim fan leafs that are causing shade? and enable light through middle of plant

Or should I now just leave it be to do its own thing

I personally believe in removing any leaves that block light to areas that will produce decent buds if you can’t tie it down to get light. I did some defoliation a few days before bloom and im going to do one more round in the AM for flowering (said to be best at week 3 of bloom) tomorrow I should have photos in my grow log of before and after defoliation
