I am growing seven unknown strain plants indoors from seeds I found in some old crappy homegrown that was given to me. This is my first time growing and I think I’m just now dialing in a good feeding schedule as can be seen from the various shades of green/yellow. I’ve had them on a constant 18h on 6h off light schedule. It’s now been about 7 weeks since first planting and I’ve been on the lookout for sex identifiers, until probably 1-2 weeks ago I identified two females. Those two females are now flowering (I’m pretty sure, check the pics) while the other plants are still growing in veg with no signs of either sex. Is it possible I have multiple strains in my grow? I took the seeds from less than an eighth of bud that I assumed was all the same strain. Is it possible that two of these plants are auto-flowering strains while the rest are not? Or did I somehow put these two through enough stress to make them flower early? Thanks for reading, I appreciate any feedback.
Seems like your initial thoughts are the right direction.
Could be those are autoflowering plants. If they were taken from clones that were on a 12/12 cycle, that could be the reason why as well. If you have them on a 12/12 light cycle, that will definitely do it. But since the rest of your plants aren’t flowering to that level, doesn’t seem like your problem. Sometimes, when you keep plants in veg long enough, if they hit the bottom of their pot, they may get rootbound and start to flower.
What kind of light spectrum are you using? When vegging you usually want a bluer light spectrum, flowering a “red” light spectrum. If you’re using “full spectrum LEDs” then this won’t be an issue.
Thanks for the response, man. None of my plants are clones, I grew them all from seeds from the same bag of seedy bud. I am using a full spectrum 600W equivalent LED grow light. I guess I was just looking for conformation that the two plants are in fact flowering and that it is possible that they are different strains than the others. Thank you.
