PPDF DIL LUM
All play the role to there math.
A perfect light spectrum, Perfect environment, steady feedings, trimmings, Pot size, and Strain genetics all contribute and is why they have a broad estimated yield value. There has never been a grow ive done where it meets the yields by seed breeder cause i dont grow in his environment. therefore, to base what i grow to what they claim is actually a joke to the consumer.
unless they tell us exactly what they did for the grow for us to replicate there grow for there yield, down to the nutes, cycles of feed to water, the chemistry, medium, temperature, humidity, light power, spectrums, distance from canopy we would never do what they claim. If your growing AF and yield 2 - 6 oz of 1 plant in a 5 ltr pot… your doing great.
I’m happy with what I’m getting this early in learning and growing. I have two plants going now and gonna try and get a qp off them together. I got 97 grams off a purple Kush auto last run and these are looking much healthier and in better shape than it was so we’ll see.
do u have any pic of your ligjt / plant set up?
The double fan and humidifier is new , I started using Advanced Nutrients and they are both bigger than the last at this age . Currently my plants are getting around 700 ppfd on an 18/6 schedule , temp 65-75 degrees F , humidity stays between 50-60%
Looks good, there is a suggestion id like to make for you and all those who follow… Have you heard of photone App? if you download the app and then select the light sorce your using, you will beable to measure from the canopy top, under the light, what your DIL PPDF LUX numbers are. from there you can adjust your dim / hight of the ligjt to Match or sync the Numbers your wanting for Max yield, 0 damage. i will try and post the graphs your needing to compare those numbers to, if i cant, google search DIL for marijuana plants, PPDF AND LUX.
Also a good tool to have is a Surface thermometer and test the temp on the flower / leaf canopy. 22 - 28° max is the range plants like for healthy growth. over 28 you burn the plants. below 28 your fine. Its just another tool to use and system to follow for a precise climate / light grow indoors. stay within the parameters and you will have a much better grow, healthy plant and better yield.
this is the DLI chart
this is the PAR or ppdf chart
Just some Info on C02 and you can Make your own C02 generator at home very easily with plastic juice containers, some hose and sugar water yeast.
I use the Photone app for lighting and when it comes to CO2;
I’m just not to that point yet.
But your right about being able to make it at home there several ways but I would recommend something like this if your gonna do that
There will be a couple extra parts and everything else you can get when you go grocery shopping.
Yes, i agree those are amazing, My friend has the same type of system for his Grow and his reason is allot more to do with his Lighgs He is using and his Grow style… he Needs c02.
I dont Need it need it… lmao But do 800- 1100 ppm average with my home made unit(s) just to hope i am Help the plants get what they need easier than its own photosynthesis process for some better yields and flower growth. when i Up scale lights to the next level, im sure a c02 system would be ideal.
I started with a double 2 liter bottle setup when I started using CO2 in my aquarium. But this bottle (7LBS.) has lasted me almost a year @ 2 bubbles p/s for 12 hours a day. Just be careful is all i can suggest because to much can cause you to pass out and to also watch for end tank dump…that could kill your entire crop before you know it.
Absolutely agree with you is why a homade system to learn and understand the chemistry and dose per day ppm,… then step up into the industrial side with a few pieces of equipment like c02 systems.
I would suggest a dual stage regulator to for a pressure system…prevents the EOTD I was talking about.
I use 2 1 ltr bottles fed into a water 3 rd bottle that i can see how many and how often each burp / buble is, with 2 bottles runing with 3 cups sugar, 3 tbl spoons Apple cider vinegar, 2 tbl spoons of Bakers yeast, i seem to get just enough c02 to not cause harm and yet shows results in nice foilage health and flower size compared to Not using it at all.
In 20 years I’ve never heard of using sugar to make CO2 ( unless your making moonshine). All you need is yeast , baking soda and vinegar , water can be used but vinegar is more volatile reaction between the two. Give this article a read basically exactly what I did for about 4 years in my aquarium full of live plants and fish.
Sugar feeds the yeast otherwise it dies and stops making the co2. That’s my basic understanding at least
I personally never used it before I got compressed food grade CO2 from the local home brew supply store. I was actually warned one time about the fact that the sugar can attract ants and other sweet loving pests. It’s great for fermenting alcohol ( a little of my Grandads Rebel knowledge ) but not necessary. Just baking soda , yeast and vinegar. Just some additional advice on doing this your 2 liter bottles have the chance of exploding and you have no way to control the quality of actual amount of CO2 your putting in because you have to rely on the pressure created by the process which is actually not very much. I understand the desire or need to DIY stuff but in this case I would highly recommend getting a cheap tank off Amazon or Airgas has large tanks that you change out , a little pricey but probably last at least a year or more per tank depending 8n how much you use , and definitely add a dual stage regulator to prevent EoTD. You can also add a bubble counter to the regulator to fine tune it to the amount you want and even put a timer on it so it’s not running 24/7 or the need for manual interaction , you can’t do that with 2 liter bottles.
well ya learn somthn new then. sugar and yeast
sugar feeds the yeast more sugar longer it lasts
morr yeast more c02 levels
I know the concept from making moonshine with my grandpa and my aquarium that is completely natural , uses biological filtration instead of chemical and CO2 Ive used the DIY system for several years , but never put sugar into it. It’s not necessary unless your making alcohol, because it produces enough natural sugars during the process and after maybe a month youd still need to make a new batch and instead of having to clean the film that will develop inside your grow area from the sugar vapors sticking to everything. Trust me ive been dealing with this for decades. Yes sugar will help it last longer but not enough to make a difference.
so here are just 2 of probably 20 sites with 1 quick google search how to DYI a C02 generator
All use my method.
Sugar feeds yeast, yeast expells c02 gases as it decomposes in the sugar, warm water stays warm in the tent, a buble pressure monitor, filtering the gas then up a drip hose over the plants. Safe effective cheap
Plus keeping it warm like that is reducing the life cycle of the yeast.
I never said you were wrong , I just said it’s not necessary or needed in this circumstance at all Ive been dealing with yeast and sugar for almost 50 years now. I know what im talking about from real life experience from before there was even an Internet to find your information from and i know what I’m talking about and dont appreciate telling everybody to “all use my method” just because we don’t agree.
this is my set up, 2 gens feeds my sight filter water bottle, then escapes up the tube and rains c02 from roof of the tent down onto the plants, fans circulate the air in the tent and geta exchanged up to 3 times per min then out the house via 440cfm exhaust fan.
my tropics tent is also feeding my plants c02 by means of a 4inch 94cfm exchanger fan at the cieling of the tropics tent that pumps the air from my food grow into the weed grow tent which adds Humidity , c02, Oxegen, warm air as the tropics is 28° which regulates my grow tent temp to 24° - 26°c . its a self contained system between the 2 tents and whats growing that helps my weed grow. from my research anyways lol
