1st time indoor

Hi I’m new to indoor growing i have sprouting plants I have led lights and I am just looking for some extra advice to grow a good crop

I’m new also and this community is what legends are made of broski the slew of info you can get it sometimes overwhelming but to help you kinda gotta be more precise it’s like cooking there’s a general recipe but everyone has there own way fry bake saute ect that kinda like the grow game like soil living soil coco/peat/soiless drain to waste, deep water culture =DWC hydroton perlite river rocks sooooo many things you can grow in all with pros and cons water has a pH level soil has a pH level these thing mater alot lesser in certain setups but still fairly important ppm/EC depends on what you may find easier I learned to read both but stuck with ppm it’s not as thorough apparently as EC but it’s easier on math for me to know % of npk example if I use 10-10-10 fertilizer and my ppm from my water is for example 0 I use a Zero water filter it’s normally 0-15 ppm after filtration so from 0 to 100 at 10-10-10 mean 10% of that 100 ppm which is 10 ppms is Nitrogen 10potasium 10 phosphate but that’s a mid level noob thing to learn you first wanna choose a medium/growing technique you doing hydro coco soil living soil. I personally do coco for 3 main reasons first it’s like a Mix between hydroponic and soil combined coco water retention is very low it’s like a sponge it will drain itslef very easy so you really need to water it much more often than soil so my humidity stays low in my tent cause extra water evaps faster in my catch tray than it would out of soil down side you can’t leave your plant alone for more than 2 days or good luck they prolly dried out 2nd reason I called it semi hydro cause coco needs to be feed threw water I’m sure you can do organics in coco but I feel like cause of how the water just flows threw you’d wash away the microbes not actually proven but I feel like it would so you feed the plant threw water that you should ph and add nutes but it’s easier to over feed if your not checking your water constantly like hydro setups 3rd and one of the best reason is correction if you ph wrong or feed wrong you can flush with good water then re water properly and you should be good

Welcome to the community @lemonad .
I recommend you to visit our Cannabis Blog | Grow with Jane or look for some info already discuss in the forum.
If you have specific questions you can make a post about it too.

Enjoy your week.

He’s telling the truth. Everyone has his own way and mostly people who are in another setup (coco/soil/hydro) have different pros cons. First of all you must decide which soil is best for you. they all have different pros and cons.

soil can help you have a balanced pH but overwatering once and it will stay wet verry long what could cause drowining of roots root rot. thats why people will advise you to put a lot of perlite what absorbs moist. the reason i didnt pick soil for my first grow is because everytime when i open a bag its full of insects :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: and i dont want to deal with pests because i grow indoor and try not to have 1 little insect in it.
on youtube brought me to coco and hydroponic setups where yeah hydroponic is a lot of electric pumps water reservoir takes space and electricity and if you have a electric shut down you know what happens.
and like snow said coco is like a spunge so you even dont need to put perlite in it and it’s easy to flush if you messed with ph or nutrients. it’s dry time is fast but for new growers that’s actually good in my opinion. keeping an eye daily gives most experience too.
for the biggest buds you have to do lst on both auto and photo seeds lst is always good lst is low stress training.
topping is good too but not really advised for autoseeds.
there is supercropping too, what happened with my first grow by accident xD. supercropping can be done on both auto and photo.
lollipoping isn’t advised on auto flowers.
For best biggest buds you must have good genetic seeds good light almost never a deficiency in it’s life cycle especially with photo seeds because it has a based life time. And if you want much much bigger buds they advise to use co2 bags or co2 tank and if you give amino acids what causes the plant to take up more nutrients from the roots +co2 +stronger light. Dont forget big buds is not always best buds. Ofcourse no one wants to end up with 29grams xD but what i mean is some aim for bigger buds while trichomes are already done if you harvest too late you will lose potency same with too early. But we are here for those days to help you and welcome to the community.
