Last year I attempted to grow Wedding cake strain I ordered online, but I started late and had a disappointing season with the majority of the buds being very small and then dying off in the fall
So this year I made sure to follow the recommended grow season times. This was my first time ever growing any weed so the bigger the tree the more comfortable I got. Other than some unfortunate problems like the high winds destroying 3 of the 8 trees I planted I have been happy with the season so far.
I had a total of three that were needing to be removed and repotted away from the plants. If I had kept them in place i would have spent lots of time and effort for hemp and not for the THC strains
Unless you are interested in getting a lot of seed I would consider getting rid of the males altogether. Unfortunately pollen spreads so easily that one breath of wind can spread it for miles affecting your plants and potentially the plants of anyone else growing nearby
Thanks for your suggestion, I appreciate it alot. I literally just started learning to grow last year, and with the fact that I started so much later in the growing season last year. This growing season is my 1st full season, I am considering this as my first-time.
I appreciate your advice, after receiving an overwhelming amount of feedback suggesting pulling the males asap. I had decided to just remove them and not repot them. The winds here are extremely high, and I can imagine how frustrating it would be to find myself dealing with the aftermath of male plants popping up everywhere.
Don’t put them anywhere near the females. Like not in the same acre as it WILL pollinate the females leaving you with poor quality bud that is laden with seeds
Thankw for the help, I have made the the decision to just destroy the male plants. I really dont want to jinx or caus3 a bigger headache from the stress.
After completing the curing process separating buds i came out with close to 2 pounds.
I was jot even expecting half of a pound so it was a very successful season
