Hello everyone

I’ve never grown anything before. I love plants and wanted to try taking care of one. I took all the seeds I found, and they all grew.

It’s been 7 days today; they germinated in two days.

Now I’m not really sure how to proceed. I bought nursery soil, the kind that’s a bit like substrate, but I only put a little banana water, which isn’t good for providing nutrients in the first week. It’s growing spindly.

The leggy growth could be due to too much moisture. Initially, water minimally and only every few days. This way, they develop their roots better to search for water and don’t shoot up too much. Let the soil dry out first before you water again. Optionally, you can also add a bit more soil on top so it stands more stably and can develop roots there as well. If necessary, stick a wooden skewer next to it in the soil and tie it up.

If you are getting tall and skinny seedlings chances are you need to increase the amount of light that they are getting. They will stretch in search of light if the intensity isn’t high enough for them.
