Could someone give me some advice about watering , feeding, ph levels and so on what will help me throughout my grow
Its outdoor autoflower organic .
Need some tips as i am clueless every time i read a guide its different to one another .
Hello @Newchoppee and welcome,
thats right, and that’ll be nothing else here…cause there is more than one way to grow…
Is it soul or cocos you’re growin in?
If it’s soil, you don’t need to control Ph Soil dimoes the Regulation
Watering when the first 2-3 cm of Soil are dry…
The best way to learn is just keep on growin amd read, read, read in this comunity, if there are problems, ask , and there’ll be help very fast…
Happy Growin
Autoflowers thrive on low stress training techniques. From what I’ve able to find online people tend to stick to low stress training the plant by bending the top leather than cutting it because it can take up the prcious time it has to grow before flowering. You can still get a pretty wide canopy but like grow starter said, there are many ways to grow the plant.
Growing in soil I always try to stay between 6.2-6.8 so I recommend 6.35-6.65 to help keep you more in range.
You want to water when the top couple of inches is dry, but that can be so confusing to a new grower, the tried and true method that always works is ot listen to your plant. After watering I would wait till the lower leaves begin to wilt and point down, like straight down. Also I think of watering in liters to help with ratios. So a 5 gallon pot is 20 liters and I will use around 1.5-2l per pot. So 5-10 % of total soil volume you should need to use for water. So a 4 liter pot I may use 200-400ml.
As for feeding you are in living soil that’s organic so let’s keep it going. You can use some basics so much as earthworm castings, molasses and I would buy some organic CalMag from online (you’ll need it). So depending on the age and size of the plant you’ll want to use between 1/2 - 1 cup of earthworm castings in a gallon of water, and half a dosage of calmag. You feed this 1 time per week, keep in mind to go light and it takes around 2 weeks for plants to properly transition nutrients to starches it can use to photosynthesiize.
The molasses will come in handy for flowering and using a tablespoon of that in lukewarm water will give in essential nutrients it needs.
You can spray nutrients onto a vegetative plant to allow quicker uptake of nutrients to a deficient plant.
I recommend spending time researching what the nutrient deficiencies and toxicities are, it is very important with cannabis as there are different signs for each level of toxicity or deficiency.
You’ll need a pH testing “pen” and a ppm testing “pen” to help keep your nutrients and ph as optimal as possible.
But there is no “right” or “wrong” way of growing. As long as you go at with with a thoughtful, patient, and gentle route the plant will thrive. I know this sounds cheesy but just give it love and attention, take care of its needs when they arise and she will reward you bountifully!
I wish you luck with your grow. If you need any help then please reach out to the community. You can also message me if you want any help quickly, I try to check normally. Have a great day!
Thabk you so much for taking time in explaining it into more detailed depth to me , i think am starting to get the idea of it, what if i only feed water from start to finish without any nutrients or cal mags etc. What would happen ?
Well it would be deficient in nutrients to properly grow. And depending on the nutrient you will have different symptoms. But overall will stunt your plants growth. So I wouldn’t recommend with normal potting soil. But you can have amended soil. So you have the starter pot with seed starting soil or coco and then after it’s one gallon, you could transplant it into its next home but mix up earthworm castings, dolomite lime, and a couple other things you would have a nutrient rich and oh balanced soil.i would just do normal potting soil mixed with like 30% earthworm castings, up to 50%. This will give the plant its essential nutrients for veg and the stretch. At around 2-3 weeks of flowering you can use flowering nutrients or something. Astral like molasses. But cannabis plants clove calmag, so you would need to add. Most soil nutrients will give you sustained plants for 1-2 months before needing new space or more nutrients (depending on the size of the pot). So you could do it but I would still think at some point you will need to add nutrients into it. 3:2:1 or 3:1:1 npk ratio is good for vegetation but flowering wants like 1:3:2 or 0:3:3 ratio. So even off that alone you will need to have different nutrient amounts for flowering. Just water will only get you so far, like a couple weeks then it’s gonna start having issues.
Switch to a coco perlite mix with hydroponic nutrients. I tried one grow in soil and absolutely butchered the plant. Since switching medium and nutrients i find growth and flower production incomparable. Best part is coco with hydroponic nutrients is literally grow by numbers. Learn to ph and ppm your water for every feed (generelally every 4 days) and watch the plants do the heavy lifting. I have personally grown over 100gs dry from a single plant so far.
