Autoflower - Day 84 from seed | Week 8/51 days of flower - is it ready?

Growlog link: https://growithjane.com/growlog/master-yoda-auto-1-xijvc

Hey guys. I am day 69 / week 6 of flower with my Master Yoda autoflower. Looking at the Trichomes, I only see maybe 1-2 amber ones and most others look fairly clear/cloudy. Most the pistoles are orange.

Apparently this strain is supposed to finish in 50-60 days, but I feel like I can give it 1 more week at least??

I need to water her today but not sure if I should give nutrients or start flushing???

What I’ve learned from growing auto is that depending on the stress imposed on the plants, they take longer to recover.
My experience with two Gorilla Cookies Auto: one of the plants had almost no stress (only LST) and this one I will harvest with 70 days predicted by Fast Buds. The other one I did FIM topping, LST and defoliation and I will certainly only harvest two or three weeks later.

I’ll take the plant in the blue rack a little longer (she’s definitely not ready yet). The other one I’ll chop next December 10th.

Hi @Rasta_Free-Man I would still wait. Most of the pistils look clear to me.
You’re almost there, don’t give any more nutrients, just water. Thus the plant begins to dry up all the mobile elements of the leaves and will have a more natural taste.
Keep us informed with the next photos . :muscle:t2:

Thanks for the replies guys. I did end up giving her nutrients today, but that will be the last feeding. Just ph’d water going forward.

I did stress this girl out it many ways… so I see the delays. But not as much as her sister, same seed pouch, but I Topped her, and she is like 2-3 weeks behind because of it.

I think I will just stick with Photoperiod plants, since I can stress them and not worry, and I can actually create an even canopy…

The recommendation for autos is only LST and no topping as they are programmed to usually flower in 4 to 6 weeks of a veg stage. Anything like topping does slow it down and usually can’t rebound as the flowering stage starts but it fails to recover. Most seed development recommend not to do anything more than LST. I strictly grow autos and everytime I did anything like topping the plants failed to recover and if they did they certainly were not robust kola’s or buds on the plants compared to those I only did a light stress testing, etc.
Yes, you will certainly get the ability to shape and mold your plants with feminized photoperiod plants and can top, scrog and LST them and maximize your plants for a full potential.
Still not bad looking plants considering!
Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback. I agree that toping autoflowers is generally a No-No, but after seeing so many other people having success, I thought to try it out. I am essentially trying to make as many mistakes as I can in my first and second runs, so I can avoid making mistakes in the future.

I think like you too. I want to make mistakes, to learn. I too was a bit perplexed about the autoflowerings regarding the HST given their time constraint. But I’ve seen things here that I really didn’t believe could be done. Love peace and smoke🖖🏻

To err is human!..I completely made mistakes and did things I would never do again. I then started to research everything I could and trial and error was on part of that but eventually you will have it down and will being growing excellent crops. One book I really enjoyed as it has great pictures supporting growing marijuana is:
“Marijuana Horticulture the indoor/outdoor medical growers bible”. I knew a few things from times past growing out in the bush, etc. But then here in Canada we were finally legalized and we could do our indoor grows which was a whole new learning curve for that in comparison to outdoor growing. Give this book a try, it has some great stuff and helped me make fewer mistakes. Cheers!
P.S. None of us are perfect we all make mistakes:)

Thanks man, I will check out the book. I did so much learning a few years ago and had to stop growing basically as i started. Starting back up again. Got my perpetual grow set up and about to harvest my first plant. Pretty excited.

First plant of your setup, that’s great!..do you have a picture to share of her in the flowering stage? Check out your buds! Cheers!

Just about done week 6… still not seeing many cloudy or amber trychomes.

Same as mine!
Not ready yet (my opinion).
Wait two weeks more. I see that many of the tricomes are clear.
Most of them might be milky and amber. And are also a few white pistils on.
I truly believe is not time for harvesting yet.

So, I intend to harvest eight or ten days from today (next day 12 or at most the 15th).

Mine are on week 10 now (65 days from seed) and I’ll take it till the end of week 11.
Is the best thing to do for me.
