My germinated seeds have some small hairs like the one in the image but I don’t know what’s causing it.

At the bottom end, you can see very fine hairs, can’t you? The actual question is, why isn’t it in the soil?

That is roots attempting to form. Without something to grow in the clock is ticking for it now.

I agree that thing should have been in some sort of medium when the taproot was 1/4” long. Be careful that you don’t stunt it.
