Beginner Questions and Problems

Hey guys, I have some questions about the status of my ladys but first up a Picture of my entire Grow

This is an Indoor Grow in a 1x1 Tent with 420w Led Full Spectrum LED

Avg Temp. 24°C
Avg Humidity 40-50%

From Bottom Right corner clockwise I have got

Super Lemon Auto
Blue Cheese Auto
Exodus Cheese Auto
Original Cheese Auto

Now the plants one by one

Super Lemon Auto 32 Days old

This one looks pretty ok and I think it is going well, am I right?

Blue Cheese Auto 26 days old

The Blue Cheese has a bunch of leaves hanging down and I wonder why? Maybe you have some tips?

Exodus Cheese Auto 26 days old

The Exodus Cheese looks pretty good to me too and I think there is no problem actually but maybe you cab see something I don’t?

And last but not least

Original Cheese Auto 26 days old

This one too has some leaves hanging down and It seems to be much slower than the other 3

Maybe it’s also important to say that the Soil actually has a PH of 5.7 since yesterday, can I increase it just by watering with higher PH Water? My tap water originally has 7,8 but I normally decrease it to 6,5…
So now I wonder how high the PH of the Water should be to get the soil to ± 6,5 ?

Overall it would be nice If some experts could have a look and tell me what could possibly be wrong, or if you can see something I haven’t noticed yet…

Thank you in advance and Happy Growing

Your plants are looking really good :+1:.
I honestly don’t see anything wrong , the droopy leaves could be a little to much water but wouldn’t worry unless it gets worse. The slow growth could just be the strain. They all don’t have the same time frame. I actually harvested one on the 6th and another on the 17th but they started at the same time.
A future suggestion is to add a little more soil to your pots , I fill mine about an inch from the top then keep some for top dressing if needed.
Are you using or plan to use any nutrients?
Do you know the ppfd of your lights?

Thanks for the answer,

Yes I am using nutriments from the BioBizz Starter Kit and also the Soil is a Biobizz Light Mix.

And these are the specs of the lights:

One or two are a little droopy perhaps but otherwise looking good man. Overwatering is the number one noob error and can wreck your grow if not careful. I stunted my entire grow on my last run because I overwatered, once, when young.

Just make sure you don’t oversaturate them, and let the pots nearly fully dry out between waterings. You can lift them to see if they feel heavy or light. Only water when light.

As for ph, stay at 6.5-6.8 for your input solution in soil. You shouldn’t have any issues following normal feeding if you stay in this range.

If you feel confident, you can try out doing some LST (low stress training) to improve yield, if not then just let them do their own thing.

The thing is, I really wonder if it could be overwatering because I only water them every 3 days and until now never more than 350-500 ml and spray them a bit wet every day

I also weigh them before watering to try avoiding overwatering…

Don’t sweat it then, I only mention it as it is such a common mistake. And the consequences are pretty harsh.

Sounds like you are on top of it so could be anything. Maybe you can dial in the environment, humidity, temp, ppfd (light intensity) etc.

You can use vpdchart.com to figure those out, and there’s an app called Photone worth grabbing so you can measure the light.

@SJ1

That is actually pretty usefull

Plants look great for first time grower! Just ask questions here as you go and these guys and girls are beyond helpful!

The Photone app has become my best friend for dialing in my lights. Definitely a must have in my opinion.

Indeed, thanks to that app I realised that my Led Panel was set way too low regarding the ppfd and Dli level

Move your Fan Above the canopy not directly at the plants, the circulation fans are to circulate the Air inside the tent / room, generally 1 above the canopy / lights and 1 Below the canopy / pots. your exhaust should be dialed down below your Cfm tents volune capacity so your exchanging air 1 - 3 times a minute, this allows for a constant movement of air throughout the environment and plants. Droopy leaf can be genetic, lack water, over water, but yours show no stress or nutrition issues, so id say its genetic.
your plants look good. keep up the good work

@davil420 Actually I have 2 fans one monkey fan on the left corner of the tent that cools the lighta a lil bit and makes movement directed slightly to the plants, and the big fan on the floor at the right corner to provide air movement, and on top of course the inline extractor fan with carbon filter.

if you notice curling or dead crispy leaf edges its Wind burn damage, something to keep eye out for

Use Dr.green house VPD LVPD app for Environmental and leaf. I only say use this app cause this app has been varified as Accurate and proper calculations. Choose 1 tho Either Vpd or LVPD not both. I go by my leaf LVPDcause thats what im growing, not my tent walls and equipment lol… but that’s just me. Knowing the leaf and plants health and stomata open or closed makes all the difference

Use dli for your running day light hours. make sure its set to your ligjt scedual 1st. same with protone app make sure you select the lighting your using before using the app for reading. also in setting in photone app you can turn on Leveling, this will display 4 orange corners on the display you need to match the white corner markers up to for 100% level reading and clean the front camera lense 1st

I’ll check out the app thanks but I don’t tend to put vpd at the top of my list of importance tbh, as long as I am in the right ballpark that’s good enough for me. I used to but found no difference in my grows so a few percent either way does not worry me at all.

Light however I pay much more attention to, so thanks for the photone tips, I hadn’t seen the new features. That levelling thing looks neat.

@Wick - make sure to calibrate photone before using for measurement - select your lamp as the source, then calibrate it using your light output chart (from the manufacturer). Otherwise your readings won’t be correct for your light.

When adjusting your exhaust, Make sure the walls of the tent are relaxed and natural. If you see the walls sucking Inward thats to high exhaust, if you notice allot of play in the walls of tent when you press on the walls, its not enough. take your tent dimentions and multiply them i to themselves 5x5x6 =150 cfm for a 5x5 6 tent.
means the Max my fan should be is 150 cfm and lowest dial speed should be 20% of that = 30 - 50 cfm.
I set mine for 2 tents at 35% speed dial power / fans total speed for 2 exchanges a min. just enough to keep fresh air in and extraction of humidity and hot stale air.
this Also helps Stabalize the environment.
I highly suggest GOVEE equipment. its Automation and setting with the app give you a perfect micromanagement environment from the touch of your phone. you can set the temps, hmd on scedualling which the heater and humidifier runs off the govee thermo hydro meter. hmd cost 39.99 cnd heater was 60.00 cnd and the temp hydro meters are 2 for 30.00 cnd. app is free. Linking the heater and humidifier to the meter in the tent, setting high and low limits on app, the govee system maintans your tent perfectly within .5 of a degree and 1 % hmd fluctuations. Best investment you could make for yourself.

Your right about the exhaust but one thing I should point out is that if your worried about the smell in a non legal area or just don’t want it in your home , negative pressure ( sucking in ) helps keep it down. I have no smell outside my tent at all doing this myself.

Yes indeed

VPD is really important for fast growth
If your humidity is off they can’t breathe properly
And take up nutrients. For fast growth you need to have all elements working together.

I run my veg at 80-85 ( keeping leaf temperature at 82 degrees F) my humidity is around 85% lots of air circulation.

Maybe doesn’t work for everyone but I have great results
