Why do we need Co2?
What dose it do
Plants require carbon dioxide (CO2) to grow, prosper, and propagate. However, when raised in a sealed grow room, plants may struggle to access the amount of CO2 they need to thrive. Using a CO2 regulator and controller setup for plants in your grow room allows you to produce higher yields in less time
Yes, CO2 is Essential for the plan to breath and expel oxygen.
The CO2 readings in my tent, without adding the CO2 canister is 480-500ppm, about the same as in my grow space. NOTE I have extreme negative pressure ensuring constant air exchange. When I added the TNB Naturals CO2 canister, my CO2 levels were still in the 475-500 range, as my inline fans are just sucking outside.
Now having a CO2 burner and regulator might be better… but honestly, after doing my research, the plants need to be exposed to excess amount of light/PAR and excess heat in order to take in extra CO2 (or something like that), so I decided, for now, I won’t be adding CO2, just what is in the home. Again, the air in my tent is constantly flowing.
So, if you have a tent that does not have good air exchange to ensure the plants can breath, then sure, adding CO2 is essential, BUT, then you have the bigger issue of Lack of air exchange, likely to cause mold, white powdery mildew, etc.
Yeah Co2 is a must I make my own,
20 Ltr sugar, 20 Ltr water, disolve them both then add 2 bags of slow release brewers yeast in a big 40 ltr bucket with lid and bubbler on it.
Last about 3 weeks in a big grow room 8 lights+.
Up to 20 % faster as well as bigger yeild.
(Ps take out when lights are off plants don’t breath it in during there sleep and u go in your room in morning and die Co2 poison)
Hey bro, I would like to know if you have any measure in proportions? I’m in a small room of 1.2x1.2x2.0mt.
If it’s not asking too much, could you describe a recipe?
Yeah sure mate , I use a big coke bottle add 500 grams of sugar 0.5 lites of water just warm enough to disolve the sugar the add 50 grams of all purpose yeast to it shake it up well.
Then when u open the lid it should be like opening anew coke bottle the pressure it’s releasing is co2. Then incert a brewers air lock into the lid with a tinny water in it to stop the ants smelling it.
This will last 2 weeks so for a full grow it will cost you no more than 10 dollars.
Saluti
Plants need carbon dioxide (CO2) for the process of photosynthesis, where they produce food and energy. Here’s what happens in detail:
-
CO2 Uptake: Plants take in CO2 from the air through tiny pores in their leaves called stomata.
-
Light Absorption: Sunlight is absorbed by chlorophyll molecules in plant cells.
-
Photosynthesis: Using water from the roots and CO2 from the air, photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts of plant cells. During this process, light energy is converted into chemical energy.
-
Glucose Production: The chemical energy is used to produce glucose (sugar) from carbon (C) and water (H2O).
-
Oxygen Production: As a byproduct of photosynthesis, oxygen (O2) is released and released into the air, which is essential for animals and humans.
-
Energy Storage: The plant uses the produced glucose for its growth, energy generation, and storage in the form of starch or other carbohydrates.
In summary, CO2 is a raw material for photosynthesis, where plants convert light energy into food and oxygen. This process is crucial for the survival of plants and has a significant impact on oxygen production and the balance of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Could you use dry ice? Small pieces added to the tent daily?
Theoretically yes but you would have zero control over the levels that you have which can be dangerous.
