OK I am looking into buying this thing to extract the oil from my flowers decarboxylator is what it’s called my question is the expensive one is 300$ it’s called Levo 2 herbal oil infusion machine. Is this that way I want to go or is there a better product out there to get for the money has anyone gone this route and if so can I get some feed back my roommate has done cake decorating for 20 years and we want to start making some edibles she is very talented I think this will be really fun and maybe even profitable
I didn’t know about that kind of machine until you made that question. Would you please tell us how it works, if you buy it?
Def will I am still looking into witch one I’ll be getting I will def keep it posted
I was looking at the magic butter machine last year didnt end up getting it as edibles not really my thing but from what ive read it had really good reviews and lots of purchases not sure if youve check it out yet but worth a look if looking for options
My wife bought a magic butter machine a couple of years ago and we have loved it, i use it for getting rid of my trim if im not making bho that run.
I just use my toaster oven to decarb, 20 mins at 240, literally just made special sugar cookies
Thats what i did as well when i made some edibles for christmas they seemed to have got everyone stoned including the dog ( he stole one off the stove lol) but i couldnt tell how well i did since im always stoned pretty much
I would only get one if my oven was not reliable enough. That is based off personal experience purchasing one that was a copy of a $300 model.
The biggest issue with these devices is they cost about $20 in parts and you are using on something that cost multiple times more and no company is going to stand behind it.
If you still don’t trust your oven, stick to one that is just a oven. The infusion process tincture, oil or butter is easy.
I have a Levo and while it has a lot of functions, I only use the activation. Not sure why.
I also have a Magic Butter and use it for oils and butter (the butter does not come out like a nice butter, once butter has been heated it does not solidify again, you really need to clarify your butter first if you want nice butter, but not the machine’s fault)
I also have one of those silicone boxes with a hole in the top for a temp probe. That probably is the best way of activating, or decarbing, but I don’t use it.
I live alone, so the smell doesn’t bother me, but the oven route is very smelly. The Levo is a lot less smelly.
I can suggest looking on Craig’s list for a used one. There were a few in my area for sale when I got mine, but I opted for a new one. I did wait for Prime week…
I use a 8 quart pot with lit to decarb in the oven. The odor is pretty mild at 225F. So I put the weed in the pot with the lit on.
I know from testing it takes about 40 minutes in a pre-heated oven to reach temp, and hour from there. So I would pop it in for 1 hour 40 minutes.
