Lighting : parfactworks 2000w led & 2 28w led grow bulbs.
Environment : 6in exhaust fan at top rear, no fan at bottom front but there are 8 1.5in holes drilled for intake. 2 6 in desk fans mounted top fron and rear corners.
Humidity stays between 40-55 and temp is usually 68-83 depending on time of day. Ive been told that this is too much light for the space but plants have responded well I think. I have had the light in the same spot this entire grow. At the very top of the box and I guess they did ok. Anyway if in fact it is too much light how can I tell ? What will the signs be other than light burn which could mean the light is simply too close? Will Co2 fix the problem? Do the Co2 bags hanging in box really work, if not how should it be done. Does the room have to be sealed for it to work?
Generally for a hybrid or Indica strain you want 60 watts per square foot. For Sativa 70 watts. What I just found out today is that I am getting more lumens and light penetration from a 1000 watt hps bulb dimmed to 600 watt than I was getting from my 1500 watt KingLED on full spectrum in a 25’ foot room. With the LED I was at 60 watt per square foot. Now I’m at less than that but getting much more light.
As far as Co2 is concerned, cannabis loves it and can benefit from 1300-1500 ppm. The natural atmosphere has 400 ppm. The more Co2 you have the more light your plants can absorb, which is an increase of photosynthesis exponentially. The only way to know the level of Co2 is to purchase a Co2 meter which is about $100.00 or more. Exhale 365 claims they’re bag is good for a 16’ area for up to 6 months. I have 3 in a 25’ room. However, I do not have a meter so I don’t know what the level is. I bought them because I am flowering and I want to be sure the plants can take advantage of the 1000 watt hps.
As long as you are exhausting you will be losing some of your Co2, however, you are also bringing it in via the holes in the bottom. Also, the plants are producing it at night and therefore it will be building up. When the lights come on they will consume it rather quickly. All these variables are known to be true and also elusive to monitoring. I would recommend having as much as possible for the light you have. Cannabis will grow at the rate which the lowest environmental factor will allow.
