While im sitting here, eating my Blueberries, I was thinking about putting one or two in Soil next to my Cannabis Plants. So whenever I go to the tent I can grab one… but I have no idea what their needs are or how to grow a plant from the Berries. Do I have to extract the seeds and dry them first or shall I cut them in half and place on Soil? I’m sure I’ll find the answer when I google for it. But I wanted do share this idea with you and maybe I’ll inspire someone to do the same.
Lmao how high were you when you posted? J/k
Blueberry plants take a long time to produce and would take up valuable space in the tent.
Blueberry plants typically take two to three years to start producing fruit, but it can take several years for them to fully mature. A moderate harvest can be expected after at least three growing seasons, but a more significant harvest usually occurs after six years.
Here are some tips for growing blueberries:
- Plant in early spring: Plant blueberries in full sun and acidic soil in early spring.
- Remove debris: Remove leaf litter and other debris from around the base of the plants.
- Harvest all berries: Harvest all the berries instead of letting them fall to the ground.
- Ensure pollination: Blueberries are pollinated by bees, so make sure there are enough bumblebees and honey bees around the plants.
Blueberry plants are long-lived, woody shrubs that can grow to be 5 to 8 feet tall. They are part of the heath plant family, which also includes cranberries, huckleberries, rhododendrons, azaleas, and heather.
I had no idea that’s why I’ve asked! All I knew is that they like a cool humid climate…
Thanks for the input! Okay so no homemade Blueberries for me…
But I know how to grow Strawberries!
I never tried from seed but we gave up after 3 years in a row of starting again each year with seedlings. We learned that they like acidic soil around 5.5 and the Australian sun was enough to kill them in a day when it gets hot, not my type of thing any more lol.
lol blunt! One time I was high on mushrooms and a guy posted a pic of his grow with those rocks, I think some type of hydro setup, and I thought they were potatoes needless to see they weren’t very happy when I commented that!
Lmao i think i saw that comment it made laugh so hard
As for blueberries blunt is pretty spot on i have a blueberry bush outside that took a few years to fruit. Actually thought it was dead after first year lol. But if ya decide to plant one its a bush that likes just as much shade as sun and beware the wildlife will eat them mfkers up if ya not fast enough to harvest lol
