Do you guys think she still has a little more time to go?

Hi guy’s, most of ya’ll know me…this is my second time around for growing. So I’m not exactly sure about the harvesting time. My friend who I haven’t seen in awhile harvested the last one for me, so I’m still learning when to harvest. Currently 6 weeks into flower, 39 days total. 75 days total. I have 3 purple haze auto fem’s from Seedsman. It says 75 days to harvest, but like everyone says that’s a give or take. The pistols haven’t fully curled in yet, but a lot of orange and white hair’s. I did check the trichomes with my microscope but its hard to get a pic. I haven’t really seen any amber mushroom’s, and I still quite a few clear ones in the mix. Pic’s are attached below, thank you all so far for the help and info. I also have another seed germinating that’s actually ready to go into a pot today. Being it’s an autoflower it can go in with these guy’s as I’ve been told.

If you don’t have a growlog please answer these questions.
What strain are you growing? Is it Auto, Fem or Reg?
Are you growing Indoor or outdoor?
Are you using nutrients? Which ones? How much?

Bro it’s hard to tell but the trics just look cloudy. I’m going to say another week. Let them amber 15 to 20%. Plus this is when buds really put on weight. But just thi k of all the hash you can make next week. Lol

its really hard to tell, it looks good on my phone. But soon as I snap the pic its blurry. I was thinking the same another week. I could make alot of hash if I knew how. lol…thanks again!

Dry ice, a bucket, and two good five gallon paint strainers will get you started on the hash. It’s super easy.

Thank you! Im gonna watch some videos to learn!

I agree with everyone else, all cloudy no amber. Another week for sure. Make sure you check everyday though. The amber can come real fast.

Thank you! I will be checking again in the morning like I always do…and I have a seedling in the tent now that popped so on my 3rd grow. It’s a northern light, I’m quite excited to see how this one goes. I’m gonna do a few different things this time around. Gonna push for bigger yields, and some LST, and possibly use a net to help keep the canopy all = and trim the lower 30% of the tree. Then use less nutes, as what i’ve heard is Northern Lights don’t really like a lot of nutes.

@Bud4201990 I just puts some northern lights #5 into the flowering tent. The do not like high levels of nitrogen but they do want some.

with what week into veg would you give it nutes? and how much nitrogen do you recommend? I was thinking after week 4 if it looks like its having issues add just a little bit like quarter of what the bottle reccomends for fox farms. Im using Salamander fox farm soil, with perlite. it worked good for the purple hazes. I really do appreciate your advice!

yep another week!

@Bud4201990 I hit mine depending how the strain is tolerating the nutes. Cook em low and slow like a brisket with them nutes. It’s alot easier to prevent a problem than correct one in a grow. For me personally I start at seedling with 2 ml per gal of cla mag. Cal mag gives you nitrogen in the form of calcium nitrate and magnesium as magnesium sulfate ( Epson salt) so I think it’s enough N to get you to first top without dumping to much in the pot. After I do my first top and make sure she’s bouncing back well I’ll hit it with 2ml Cal mag and 1.5 ml big grow through the veg stage. Then a TRUE FLUSH, next cal mag at 2ml, big bloom at 3 ml, tiger bloom at 1.5 mil though stretch 3 to 4 weeks. 2ND FLUSH. Next 1 ml cla mag, 2 ml tiger bloom at feeding until final flush, 2 to 3 weeks prior to harvest. Final flush to harvest, RO water only. 72 hours prior to harvest. NO WATER, KILL ALL LIGHT TO PLANTS, they will think it’s the end of the world and put a latch ditch effort into producing trichomes. And of course Remember all the basics ph effects everything always troubleshoot from there. Next check ppm of course. But man my honest most valuable piece of advice, a damn teaspoon from your kitchen is about 2 ml but a medical teaspoon is 5 ml. That fact caused me alot of heartbreak. That’s why I measures nutes with a syringe. More control. Hope this helped bud.

Dude this is gonna help a lot! I appreciate it…Im gonna screenshot this. I use a syringe for everything its more accurate. I checked the trichomes again, and they are still clear. But Ive noticed how much they are still packing on right now.

hi there,

i’m growing northern lights for some time now. and i never had any major problems with them.

i don’t know the fox farms soil and fertilizers. here is what i do:

  • i’m using some kind of coco jiffy pots for germination/cloning and then put them into nursing pots with biobizz light mix (ec-1.2/pH 6.2) at the start.
  • when they are ready for normal veg, i’m transplanting into 1G pots with biobizz all-mix (ec 2.2/pH6.2) at the underpart and light-mix on top. using endo mycorrhiza from a local fungus breeder on the roots.
  • i’m using only tap water, which mainly contains calcium, magnesium and some trace minerals with 290ppm and around 7.3 pH.
  • sometimes i put egg shelves or calcium/magnesium dietary supplements (calcium carbonate/magnesium carbonate) and multi mineral dietary supplements into the soil. usually i just add some epsom salt into my watering for the magnesium sulfate, because my tap water contains enough calcium.
  • around 1 week before switching to flower i water with a bit of biobizz grow (which is basically sugar beats extract) and epsom salt before taking some clones (to give the clones some extra nutrients before they’re rooting).
  • then i transplant into 3/4G pots with biobizz all-mix and give them the week (or 2) to recover before switching to flower. again using endo mycorrhiza on the root ball and the soil i’m transplanting into.
  • from there i only water and use some epsom salt
  • some time into the stretching phase i’m feeding a compost tea, or just do a feeding with biobizz grow, biobizz bloom and biobizz top max.
  • usually the soil gets weaker mid flower (between week 4-6 of flower), so i’m feeding a normal dose of biobizz grow, biobizz bloom and biobizz top max one or two times. after that i just water until the end.

in case i see deficiencies, i correct them.

Thank you for the info, and are yours auto or photo? I see you said switch them to flower. The seed I have is an auto fem from seedsman. Also I was told with autos you wanna start em in the pot youre gonna finish them in. So I have the seedling in a 5 gallon pot, and lightly watered down soil. I have hard water, with plenty of calcium as well. My ph is around like 6.6 to 7.0 when testing. Which I was told is good because its the sweet spot. Im only using fox farms because my friend who was helping gifted me it with other stuff to help me start out. Hes doing hydro instead of soil now, so Im just using it until its out. I also have beastie bloomz he gave me as well. Just not sure when to use is all.

I’m only growing photos.

With my perpetual grows, i like to have control over the timing and i also like to grow clones i’m taking from the plants (which doesn’t work with autos).

It’s a good thing that your friend has experience with the soil and fertilizers. that way he can help you with advice if you run into problems.

i also heard people like to put their autos into the final pot from the start. you just have to be cautious to not over water your plants, because you don’t want to stunt your auto flowers. :joy:

other than with photos, you don’t have the chance to give them some more veg time in case that happens.

you should get yourself some epsom salt (which you can find in every drug store or hydro store). it’s a good and cheap alternative to cal-mag.
maybe get some seaweed extract (soluble kelp), which is a good supplement if you run into problems.
