I just started my first grow in a vivosun 4 by 4 tent. Ive got all the bells and whistles which ha e helped. I started with sour diesal autoflower. Not realizing that autoflower really ment autoflower. So im about 6 weeks in and it started pre flower stage. I e done some research to start adding nutes (little late in the game). I picked up fox farm trio and some gg top dress. The more i read is to not ise together (no point, too mich). Should i just stick with the reioand return the dry nutes? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanka
Hi topher welcome to the community! If it were me, I’d go with the fox farm for this run. You’re already behind and organic nutes wouldn’t be immediately available to the plant like the synthetic ones would.
I prefer organic so I’d use the top dress if the plants are healthy enough. With the fox farms you need a pH pen and a ec pen to trouble shoot and the pH pen is needed to feed. Organics is just easier and more forgiving imo
For sure! Do you think he has enough time to apply organic top feed if he’s already in flower though?
If going dry ammendments. You’d need to brew up a compost tea or something to get tons of life in that soil to get the break down. But, synganics is a option to make it through the round if he wanted. Or just give it bottle nutrients. Since you already bought the fox farm trio. I’d use it.
Depends on the ammendment. Stuff like Gia green and some others claim to be available really fast. The stuff I use takes time except buildaveg and buildabloom they are water soluble and available immediately.
Makes sense. That’s why I said I’d probably just go synthetic for this run because I know organic takes time and he’s already in flower. On a side note, that cover for the earth box allows you to top feed with organic and the roots actually come up to feed on it. Thought that was really cool!
Jeremy from build a soil is so awesome, makes you comfortable to try new things since he explains it so simply and in plain english
He’s the reason I’m getting the blu mats
I think ill stick with the trio and get through this one. Should i still keep the dry nutes. I plan on doing another grow after this. I joined the “jane” app and noticed everyone top dresses through out veg and then big bloom for flower
For sure keep the dry nutes. Organic is ideal when possible. Most on here use organic. I’m going to switch after I burn through all my synthetic nutes. When I bought my tent the guys gave me tubs of nutrients!
I’ll have to check those out. I need to stop talking to you blunt, you’re making me spend a lot of money
thanks everyone
Any time, there are so many badass and knowledgeable people on here that are happy to help! Please ask the questions if you’ve got them. I’m on year 2 of growing and still have a million questions lol
Pics please. I use fox farms and would be glad to help. You are going synganic with fox farms.
I believe it’s stunted. I started it outside on Feb 25th. Had heater and humidifier battling it out for few months. I live in the south, so morning is cold as hell then afternoon 70. I was watering with non ph’d tap water that was cold. My wife saw my struggles and let me bring it in the spare room downstairs. Which has been great. Then it flowered all of a sudden. I used coco loco soil. I got the trio from ff and started it yesterday. Going to try it for around 5 weeks and then flush. Still battling vpd and humidity sometimes. Tried whole house dehumidifier to drop the lung room to around 45%, but didn’t do anything. The numbers aren’t terrible. Exhaust fan set to 60 % humidity trigger. Thought about taking the dehumidifier back and getting the ac infinity vpd heater, but the numbers don’t look terrible with doing nothing. Whatcha think. I am planning on 4 photoperiod grows after this. I’m expecting not to yield too much off this one. By the way: sour diesel autoflower
