Yes advance nutrients grow bloom micro 4 Mills in gallon water & seaweed extract 3 mills
Buds arent growing I think but hairs getting darker on plants. Fan leaves are spotting not sure if normal or nutes burn on unknown strain. Flowering for a while now almost 70 days.
Currently unable to upload photos to site.
Being the plant is on day 70 (without seeing pictures) some leaf discolouring is normal as the plant finishes off. Also on day 70 of flower I’d imagine the buds are pretty much done swelling up now they’re just finishing off the trichomes
I am using 4 mills to one gallon of ph water. But I think I over did it last time I flushed the plant with ph water I just added 3 mills of seaweed extract and 2 mills of nutes back 3 days ago. I had to trim off damaged leaves . But buds are not forming confused. Any help is appreciated.
The buds are forming they just take a while. I find for a week I’ll be looking for growth and then overnight I’ll notice a big change. They are growing it’s just not as fast of a change as when the plant is in veg. These are 9 days apart and for a while I felt they weren’t growing at all. It’s all about patience lol first and 2nd pic are oct 1 and 3rd pic is oct 10
So shouldn’t I worry about the hairs turning orange color? Also how much nutes would you give ? I’ve been watering every 4 days still gives run off . Any suggestions? I will be patient trying really hard
Do you water to run-off, or it starts to run-off when you start to water? I usually wait till the soil is dry down about an inch or 2 before I water. I can’t tell you how many plants I’ve drowned.
I give a gallon to her every 4 to 5 days No I dont water to run off . Some times it doesn’t always run off Water. it’s takes time water runs out eventually not all of it…
Any thoughts on what type of nutes deficance? How to save my Mary Jane… any help greatly appreciated. I used advance nutrients grow bloom & micro also seaweed extract. First time grower learning as I go. I thought I was giving to much @ 4 mills bloom & micro each per gallon of ph water about every 4 to 5 days but someone said nutes issues so maybe what kind if any one has a guess? Should I be using more or less?
Thoughts theories all welcome…
Also anyone heard of 36hr no light for flowering for stubborn girls . Thinking about trying it but thought I would pick the experts brains here.
Hi @topsykret31. A number of questions pop up as I read through your issues.
First, why adjust pH with AN when it is supposed to be self-adjusting?
Second, am I correct in assuming you are following AN’s procedure in mixing ingredients and that is micro → grow → bloom?
By the looks of your unknown strain, it looks like Ca/Mg def which is why I asked those 2 questions. The leaf damage and where it is situated on the plant clued me in (more evident closer to the lights). And this deficiency can be caused by lack of said nutrients OR pH lockout. I would be more inclined to look at pH.
The hairs turning color just means the buds are starting to mature and start their bulk-up. However, a pollinated bud’s hair will turn color as well but they will curl inwards as if trying to get inside. And they turn color faster.
Never heard of the 36 hour forced darkness trick. And lastly, I know nothing of autos so can’t comment on yours other than it looks fine with no glaring issues I can see. Are you flowering them together? I thought autos didn’t need the 12/12 cycle?
Typically the nutrient provider should give a schedule of how much nutrients to give. I know using remo when I did use nutes, I was up to 10mL/gall. I would use their recommendations. Also I’ve never heard of giving darkness to cause a flip. Usually we do a 48 hour darkness before we harvest to allow the trichomes to ripen
I purchased AN because it said ph adjusted but then I read
or youtube said Advance nutrients you still need to ph water… if it’s not true then i will stop. I learned i had to ph water after i purchased the product no return so i thought I was following the directions.
I am using tap water it showed ph of 8plus so I was reducing it to normal levels.i thought then adding nutes in. please elaborate if I’m doing something wrong. How to fix… ph the run off water newbie sorry.
Well I worked my way up mills of nutes but yes now following there directions… it was every water cuz I only water once maybe twice a week. At 4 mils I would either do grow plus micro or bloom plus micro
I thought light burn then nutes burn then just confused…
I turned off the side hanging lights now I am going straight with the ceiling light.
Okay cal mag deficiency worried it too late to save her…
Yes I read you can do 36hr darkness to jump start buding lazy ladies…
Didnt know if that was a real thing…
Ah yes sorry I forgot you were running autos the lighting schedule will not matter for them.
When PHing, it’s best to add your nutrients to the water and then use your meter and adjust as necessary. Sometimes the nutrients will raise or lower the ph to proper level. My tap water is up around 7.5 and my nutes would drop it down to 5.9.
As far as nutrient goes, I was on the advanced website and they do have 2 separate nutrient mixes for veg and flower. Ive attached a couple pictures and they’re what your nutrient schedule should be. Being in flower you should be up to 14mL of nutrients. Best way for feeding your plants using these nutrients would be to water the plants until there is about 10% run off. This will allow for complete saturation of your medium. Allow this to dry out and then feed again.
As a side note, I would round these numbers up
I don’t know about AN but when I used GH for my first grow, I had to add all three components for one feeding regardless of what stage the plant is in. But they were added in the order specified: first add the micro, mix well, then add grow and mix well then add your bloom. This is the manufacturer’s specific procedure to be used with their 3-part systems. And typically, my schedule was feed then water then feed, etc.
I am going beyond what I truly know about nutrient solutions as I don’t use them at all. But as @soulourgarden has said, add nutrients in first then adjust pH, if you feel you need to. Cheers.
