Flowering time vs potency

Hey everyone, I have a question that’s been running around in my mind about flowering times:

Are strains with longer flowering time superior in any way? Or: are there any benefits to growing strains with long flowering periods other than liking that particular strain? By long, I mean 10 weeks and upwards.

I am trying to look into what strains would be good for my grow and while I don’t mind long flowering times, unless they are better in some way, I’d rather not wait. I have found almost nothing on any of my web searches.

From what I’ve read, in terms of photos vs. autos, that’s how it used to be. Photos were simply superior. But these days they’ve figured out the best ways to breed autos. A lot stay on par with some strains of photos.

I don’t have enough experience to help much with this though haha. But welcome!
