Growing autos in 2x4 grow box, brand new 320 watt spider farmer led, was wondering if i should follow manufacturer guidelines and keep at 12 inches or should i stay around 18 inches and adjust to what plant is telling me. Cant really find guide on increasing intestity

What strain are you growing? Is it Auto, Fem or Reg?
Are you growing Indoor or outdoor?
Are you using nutrients? Which ones? How much?

I would start with the manufacturer suggestions and then increase distance if you see any signs of stress at all.

Download an app called Photone. It’s not 100% accurate but will get you within range of your target ppfd. Good luck.
