New grower here have 6 seedlings going right now that have just recently popped. Today after work I noticed some greenish stuff on my soil kinda like algae looking stuff. No clue what it could be but doesn’t look like it could be good. I’m growing in roots organics lush soil. Haven’t really watered them too much but I’m afraid I might have had the humidity too high. Anyone know what I should do? Can do?
Use a spoon to scoop it out. Let the soil dry between waterings. Looking good so far.
Awesome thanks! A couple people suggested I spray it with a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water but I don’t know how I feel about spraying them with anything else. I had them in a incubator with a little humidifier which is what made it too wet for them. I left them without the dome cover last night and they look good and the green has stayed where it’s at. But I shall scoop out the greens and give it a little more time before I water. @Outdoorman what would you recommend for watering these little lady’s? And also appreciate the help!
You can add some hydrogen peroxide to your water to help kill bacteria. Not sure its necessary if you let the soil dry out. Cant remember how much but you can Google it. I think it’s a tsp of 3% peroxide to one gallon, but verify that. Afterward, add some White Widow Endo-Mycorrhizae and 1 tsp per gallon of water of General Organics: bio root (0-1-1) and use that up over the next few weeks. This will help with cell production, stalk and stem stability, as well as create a rizosphere around your roots. This will increase the plants ability to take in water and nutrients. After 4-5 weeks transplant into 1-3 gallon pots and begin week 1 of veg. I am using Success Nutrients: Micro, Trees, and Flowers and my plants are looking great.
I wouldn’t spray the plants with peroxide. Just water your plants like normal if your going to use it. I never mist my plants. Not saying you should or shouldn’t. Just saying I don’t think its necessary. Some people will do that with a foliar fertilizer, but if your giving them a good balance of nutrients, it isn’t necessary.
