So im a newbie, with first plant. Ive got a 4 by 4 vivosun tent. Has 6 " exhaust fan, that blows into another room. Indoors, semi attched to garage. I believe im in week 7 (sour diesel autoflower). Wife keeps air at 63* and i live in georgia. Mornings cold afternoon hot. I have a feeling when summer hits it wll be opposite. The numbers jump alot. Im thinking a heater with exterior thermostat and humidifier and dehumidifier on a inkbird IH 200. That should keep it in sync (right). Plant is stunted, had the tent outside for a month. Wife saw the struggles and let me bring it in. Just started ff trio a few days ago. Leaves are dark and kinda hard. Im watering about every 3 days with ¾ gallon water in a 5 gallon pot. First plant, just trying to limp to the end. Whatcha think about the temp/humidity idea? Or am i just waisting more time and money . Going for phot
I would see what bringing the tent inside for the whole grow on your next round does. Normally your house will maintain a steady temp level if you have central air/heat. I don’t run any heater or ac in my tent as my house maintains a steady 70-75 year round
Just saying to see what being inside does before spending a few hundred bucks essentially
Im not sure to respond here or the emails. Im probably psycho sending things. Sorry. Tents been in that room for a month or so. Temp gets close to high 50’s lights off and around 65 lights on. Humidity stays around 45%. My vivosun controller is not the most accurate either. Seems vpd should be around 1.5 in flowering. I know the heat and humidity fight each other. Just looking for a simpler way to dial everything in. Should i even sweat the vpd that hard. Also im feeding every 3rd day with ¼ dose of the ff trio, and ¾ of a gallon, with some run off. Trying to make it want water and stretch out a little bit. Am i tripping?
So, I overthought everything initially as well. Nothings going to be perfect and you should just focus on a couple of things each grow. My first indoor grow I focused on temp and humidity more than vpd, and now I’m adding vpd to my focus. You could probably also push your nutes more until you see burn on the tip. Keep it simple to start so you don’t overwhelm yourself and then add new things in each grow
Cool. Makes sense. That being said, what is a good temp and humidity range for each stage. I get so many different answers online. Thats whats frustrating. You seem to keep it simple. Also, do you mean up the dosage on the nutes (last feeding i cut to a ¼)or should i bump it up to half dose. Im using coco loco, still seems pretty moist on day 3. So im feeding every 3rd day. Or just dose to half nutes and water every other day…
As far as coco, I have no experience but I do know that you should push the nutes slowly up until you see tip burn and then back off slightly. That was you’re giving them exactly what they can handle. Here’s what I initially followed, as closely as possible but I was never perfect:
I was mostly focused on the temp and humidity when using this chart especially when I first started. I don’t like to over complicate things. Focus on your temp and humidity, then start focusing on vpd, etc once you get the hang of it. Do you use the Photone app for your DLI and PPFD?
I dont. Just downloaded it. Ive got a aerolight A200se set about 24" off canopy. Its still on veg recipe but i switched it to 20/4 (autoflower) and it at 80%. I did notice that the spectrum for the flower stage is different. Thought about switching to that and maintaining the 20/4. Ill follow the chart (thanks by the way). I am going to pick up a heater a d the controller. Surely i can pump little heat, and with the humidifier get it to around 75*
Run your lights and stuff at night and have the dark period during the warmer part of the day. This should help regulate temps. Also I you get a heater, use it to heat the room the tent is in. Don’t ever put a heater inside the tent. That’s asking for a fire.
Thats true. Ill switch them to turn off later. Not sure about heating the room. My wife will probably shit if i start heating up the rest of the house with it. Just needs about 10 more degrees. Ive shut the vents on the tent, that didn’t do anything. Probably still throw one in. Shouldn’t run too much. I had one outside for a month and it survived . It might be a waste of time, but if i can get the heat and humidity working together in my favor i will sleep little better at night
So i have recently installed the heater with exterior thermostat with the inkbird controller on the humidifier. The tentt stays dialed in @75* with 50% humidity. So far so good. Just wondering if she’ll stretch. Think im on week 7 sour diesel autoflower.
Probably got about 4 weeks ?
The one that’s in flower looks like it’s done stretching based on the flower development
Thats what i figured. Think i stunted it the first month. Hey… if i get enough for a joint, its not complete loss . Got some more seeds coming
