Help! How do I save this Strain before my light arrives next week?

I just started a plant from a seed. I planned on having it in the grow tent with light dedicated by now but it’s still in the mail. So currently it’s by the risegarden stealing light…About a week away from bag and light arrival.

I am also worried as the plant now shows pre flowers as I have read…

  1. Can I still clone this plant? I want to grow it better once the unit arrives…

  2. Is this plant going to make it to wed when the light and bag come or should I cut my losses? I feel like it’s very small for it’s age…started germinating the seed around Jan week 1 so it’s about 2 months. Preflowers showed up yesterday so I adjusted the light to 18/6 as it had some fade feature on the rise I wasn’t aware of.

Thanks!

Is this an Autoflower? If it is then there’s not much you can do for it because it’s roots are comfortable in the pot and it’s biological clock will make it flower regardless of light cycles. I know someone who had an auto and it flower with only three nodes on it

Thanks for responding! This is my first grow and first plant…should have waited to start the seeds till my tent and light came but got too excited haha oh well…

I don’t think it is an auto flower. Its a random seed I had. Lets say its not for the sake of trying to save it…as auto would mean it is what it is as it seems.

Pre-flowers showed up a week ago and haven’t changed. I also put it in the bigger pot (used to be about 1/4 the pot size before that, slightly root bound) with happy frog and just distilled water 3 days ago in anticipation for my light kit that got delayed.

By wed next week it will be under a 300W LED in a 2x4’ tent with all the fans and what not…

I have other seeds but since this is a unknown I really wanna try to maintain the genetics somehow. Only seed of it I had.

If it can’t really be saved I will just start some definite autos this week…

I look forward to your feedback.

Thanks!

Cool with all that being said then I don’t think it’s flowering. What you’re seeing in the picture is just the sex of the plant and it is a female… congratulations! Females plants usually have white hairs that stick out between the inner nodes because they’re trying to find pollen from a male. The plant will continue to show these hairs in the inner nodes and when you flip it into flower they will become small little furry balls sticking out with hairs still and you can actually smoke those when it’s time to cut your plant down. You have nothing to worry about right now, I think you’re on the right track with everything. In the future, just know this is how you’re able to tell the sex of a plant. If it has hairs sticking out that are thin looking at the inner nodes, it’s a female; if it has small balls that look bulbous and acornish then it’s a male and you’re better off chopping a male down and remove it before the pollen sacs open up and fuck up your whole grow. Even if you have one male and let’s say three females, all the females will get pollinated and not produce any flowers.

Awesome Thanks!

There is so much info on the Internet, but its so unclear or contradictory. This feedback is super helpful!

I’ll keep it where it is then move it into the tent when I get it next week. I’ll post some pics in a few weeks too.

Thanks Again!
