Hi, good, it’s the first time I’ve grown indoors and my plants are about four weeks old and they’re like this.
Can somebody help me?
Is it normal for them to be like this?
What have you been doing to it? How much do you water? Have you tried feeding it yet? (Don’t take that as a suggestion yet) what kind of soil are you using? The growth can be stunted by stress and the environment itself be it heat or cold and humidity being out of wack and the soil being too hard for it to dig through. They like airy soil. If you look up vpd chart for weed and check veg and flower and stuff it tells you temp vs humidity. There is also dli daily light integral which is the intensity of light vs how man hours a day. U need to have a ppfd meter which is very expensive so don’t really do that. Based on what light you use it should come with a manual for where the light should be at each level and intensity for instance the one I use is maxsisun mf1000 in a 3by3. Works well for me so far and I’ve been following what they say the light should be at and the level it should be at in stages. Which also gives you an hour time frame for how long it should be on.
Hello, thanks for answering, now it only has irrigation with worm humus and a first dose of fertilizer, the soil I use is conventional soil with a substrate for 4 weeks. The light is 200w.
I’m sorry if I don’t express myself correctly I’m Spanish and I don’t speak the language I’m using the translator
Hello pilar…
Welcome here…
The soil looks very wet,no ?
Maybe too much water…? And if its that, its really not good.
And not enough light…!!!
After 4 weeks,its not normal…
What is your light ?
hello and thank you, the light is 200w CFL, now they are at a distance of approximately 80cm from the focus
Hi @Pilar don’t worry I use translator too.
First of all, your soil is soup. Roots seek moist soil. If it’s soggy they will never grow and the plant will stay small and moldy. Very little water. Around the edge of the vase, never in the centre. Thus the roots will quietly explore the ground and multiply. More roots = big plant.
Your lamp is fine, you can keep it very close, even a few cm from the plant. You will prevent it from stretching too much. But don’t think of bringing it to bloom with that same lamp. Think hps or led lights in the future. The ambient temperature must be between 21/30° C. If it is cold the plant will not grow.
Do not give fertilizers. He doesn’t need it yet. Ph of the water 6.1-6.5. T° water about 21°, no more otherwise you will have low oxygenated water.
Now stop watering until you put your finger in the earth and it is dry. Remember to water little around the pot not at the base of the plant.
If you need we are here.
Thank you very much I will follow your advice, what light do you recommend? (which is not very expensive either)
Now it’s OK. As for the light how much can you spend? What you have is good for unlimited time vegetating. Try visiting the Mars Hydro site, the lamps are excellent and among the cheapest. Also try to think of a grow box complete with the basic kit. Just to get an idea.
Try to better describe how you are organized and what can be improved.
These are ok, I recommend the Agro type which is good for vegetative and flowering. They make a lot of heat and consume a lot of energy. They have a duration of some 2/3 cultivation cycles. For the rest they are excellent.
I recommend an electronic blaster and not an analog one. The light emitted is more stable.
If you have a fan available, place it in the room.
I don’t know what an electronic blaster is if you could tell me.I am a beginner
" Maro" said everything…
good explanations and advices !
Too much water…stop until the soil is almost dry…
Put your cfl light closest…
See the differences and adapt…![]()
Better with a tent in your room…
You have space for i think…
There are some different sizes, its better with one…
And these 3 lamps, you cant use them in yours
Its specific,you need a special ballast,blaster,lamp…
A led light is good,there are a lot…
Mars hydro have some good ones…
What everyone else said is good information. Sorry i couldn’t really help you out. I wish I could have been more helpful. I myself am a fairly new to growing I have grown like 10 including the one I have going right now and never got it to finish. They always died before I could get where I am today. I have learned so much from these people on here and trust their advice. And they have gotten me where I am today. I am the farthest I have ever been growing. Day 54. 25 days or so in flower. And it looks good but I still have problems and worries and always find myself coming here and asking for advice. Like some of the others have said light is a big key without it you won’t be able to get far. I used a house lamp with a cfl bulb to start of course didn’t get far. Watering for me was never a huge problem because I didn’t water a lot. The way to tell for watering is a rule of 5% to 10% of water per the size of the container. Say for a 10 gal if I remember right the 10% of that was a gallon. And that is as much as you would water the pot. Or half a gallon for 5%. I’m still trying to figure mine out since Im using a 5 gal pot which is so far ok. But I had a pest problem when I watered too frequently. So I had to cut back and it sorted itself out. These plants are pretty resilient apparently for some. But I like to baby mine especially since I’ve never completed a run. Hope it works out for you.
To work, the hps lamp is sold with a power supply (a kind of current transformer). The cheapest one has no electronics and has an on-off effect that is imperceptible to the human eye. Basically on 10 seconds of light you will have a part of light lost. With the electronic one (more expensive) you won’t have this problem and the plants will receive 100% light to the benefit of photosynthesis. They are also very safe and durable and are not afraid of sudden changes in voltage. Buy the complete lamp kit.
That’s all.
Thank you very much for the help. How long do you think it will take to reach the flowering phase?
It depends on the type of genetics you are growing, whether autoflowering or photoperiod, indica or sativa or mixed.
Give us some info.
my plants are autoflowering all one is somango and the other is ak-47
The automatic cycle is 9-12 weeks from seed to harvest. Ak is sativa dominant but fast growing. Somango is more indica and beautiful powerful and productive.
